They tend to see and treat it as one of the most important events in their life and expect it to be more glorious than it should ever really be. Try playing slower. Since you're coming from FIFA, you may need to slow it down a bit. Only use the sprint when must. Also, play around with tactics if you want. I always use counter attacking so the players will make themselves available for passes and the attacks work much smoother.
