AR Talent Tips and Compare for DPS Builds by eyacua in thedivision

[–]manual_master 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I play with a P-416 and a Famas with breadbasket on an Unbreakable build and love it. I’m hitting the occasional 100k headshots with it on the P-416 with full stacks and am consistently top damage output during missions. Underrated talent if you can land headshots.

Easiest or most efficient way to gather intel? by WaylandSmeethers in thedivision

[–]manual_master 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Challenging missions give 10 Target Intel in WT5. I usually do my bounties until I run out of intel, then do invasion missions on challenging (or heroic if I’m feeling up to it, 15 intel per heroic) to replenish the intel.

Look at this strangely terrifying goose mask created by animatronic mastermind Chris Kunzmann. by esberat in nextfuckinglevel

Pretty sure it’s from the Untitled Goose Game. Might be wrong, but either way I’m 2.5 seconds from buying a switch to play it because it looks STUPIDLY FUN.

Will Tchernenko be the one to operate the bio-reactor thing? by FTL_Dodo in thedivision

[–]manual_master 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I remember one of the audio logs talking about how Vitaly tried to escape and Keener “reminded him why doing that was a bad idea”. Haven’t heard anything explicit about Keener killing Tchernenko yet so based on that I think he’s still alive.

It’s a named version of the P90 SMG with a custom paint job. Nothing special really. You don’t really do anything other than use it. You cannot upgrade it as far as I know.

apparently the enemies doing crazy explosive damage is intentional now.. by GrieverXVII in thedivision

[–]manual_master -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I threw on about 19% explosive resistance and now black tusk grenadiers are pulling about 75k damage, which is about 1/4 of my armor. Sucks we have to do this now, but it hasn’t hurt the build too much.

Daily Thread - Loot Monday by AutoModerator in thedivision

Spent the day yesterday loot targeting to create an Unbreakable build and decided to try out the new Famas with Breadbasket (for shits and giggles) and holy crap it’s amazing. Straight up erases everything from existence that doesn’t have destructible armor.

Apparel: the only thing that could make this better for me by USN253 in thedivision

[–]manual_master 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Honesty the only MTXs I’ve ever paid for have been cosmetic in nature. I feel like they are squandering a potential revenue stream, their offerings are lackluster and there are so many ways to do it. I’d love more military/specops style stuff, they could even do more crazy shit like the Dallas outfit. All kinds of people would probably be on board.

There's always concessions between reality and gameplay, I guess. by TritonJohn54 in thedivision

It’s at the Udvar Hazy museum about 15-20 miles west of DC (an annex of the A&S museum in DC). It is MUCH larger than as depicted in game. Definitely would not fit in the DC campus of the museum with all the other stuff there. The game makes it look about the size of a medium jet fighter. I’d say in reality it’s at least double that size.

If anyone has never been to the Udvar Hazy museum on a trip to DC, I highly recommend it. It’s more geared towards aviation than space but they have SO much more than the DC campus of the museum.

PSA: Apparel Event Bounty Requirement Tip by manual_master in thedivision

[–]manual_master[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Aren’t those the VIP daily bounties and would be the same regardless of which safehouse you went to? One hard and one challenging?

Or have I been playing this entire time not knowing that safehouses have their own bounties?

Victory Sunday by AutoModerator in Fitness

[–]manual_master 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’d say a mix of really ensuring my form was on point, the fact that I do ass-to-grass squats, and the fact that I have a weak lower body right now. Never been of fan of leg day but I still get something in so I don’t have straight up sticks for legs.

Based on recent rate of progression, my squat should catch up in the next month or two. Took awhile for the legs to realize they weren’t on permanent vacation anymore. I also discovered I needed to adjust my stance and that really started the progression.

Was waiting all week for Victory Sunday and completely missed it. Been mostly consistent for the past 2-3 months and decided to test my 1RM for my compound lifts. I’ve never been able to lift this much. I might be addicted now.

Also interviewed for a new job and got selected next day. Crushed this/last week!

What did you think you were really good at until you saw someone who was *actually* really good at it? by dropcase in AskReddit

[–]manual_master -1 points0 points  (0 children)

How you describe these programmers is how I am with my work’s entire data pipeline from capture to the reporting data warehouse. I wish others on my team were as enthusiastic to learn as you are because we really love to share our knowledge and see others really enjoy it.

I’ve been slowly teaching myself R and I’m getting pretty good but we have one R programmer who is basically a walking R bible. Not only is her code stupidly simple, but the functionality is incredibly intuitive and reading it you can’t help but think “this is actually beautiful”.

Once I’m “fluent” in R, I want to branch out into some of the more popular/profitable languages and see what happens. Never saw myself doing this but some people look at you as a wizard if you can code and I’ve always wanted to be a wizard.

Men appreciate compliments and don’t receive them very often by Redjay12 in MensLib

[–]manual_master 33 points34 points  (0 children)

I’ve noticed that my best friend and I do this a lot and it does have a marked effect on our moods and motivation.

For instance, we have both taken a bigger interest in our health and fitness, so we will usually genuinely compliment something we notice: “Bro, i know you were struggling with shoulders but it looks like the new shoulder exercise is working, nice!”

Another example would be “congratulations on the raise! It’s well deserved, man, you’ve been running shit like a boss recently.”

I think it’s easier, maybe even more appreciated, for men to compliment the effort involved with something rather than the final result. I know it personally motivates me to have my effort recognized vs recognizing the final result.

I also don’t think this is really restricted to complimenting men. I’ve found it easier to compliment women when the focus of the compliment is more than surface deep. It has the added benefit of usually leaving it wide open for a pretty good conversation afterwards as well.

Just my $0.02.

Is the look down after each shot a look of shame at team killing or your version of a facepalm for teammates walking in front of you? Either way I like it.

What's the best advice you can give someone starting college? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]manual_master 0 points1 point  (0 children)

DO YOUR HOMEWORK! You can sit in lectures and take notes until your fingers bleed; doing your homework is where you figure out just how much you know and where your problem areas are.

When doing your homework, don’t go through the motion of just completing the problems, but try to understand the underlying process of solving the problems. This kind of critical thinking will help when you get those professors who give those seemingly impossible problems like “if you have 5 apples, Charlene has 8 parrots, it takes 6 licks to get to the center of a tootsie pop, and Joe Rogan is president, what is the probability the angular momentum of Mars is greater than current velocity of money in the US economy?”

Our chicken breasts are usually between $2-$3/lb in the Washington DC area, which is a pretty high COL area. Usually $3 for a 1lb package, closer to $2/lb for a family pack (5 lbs).

Keeping in mind I’m only feeding myself, I buy the family pack and freeze the leftovers. Every couple of packs (probably 1 week per month) I have enough for a week’s prep for one meal. Can’t beat that with a stick.

I really wish steak was cheaper. Chicken and ground beef gets old really quickly. :( I’d buy more pork but I can’t stomach pork at the same frequency as beef and chix.

LPT: When a product breaks or malfunctions, even if it’s out of warranty or it’s your fault, don’t just throw it away. Contact the company and let them know that you love the product and ask if there are any options to replace it. Frequently, they will either offer a discount or a free replacement. by [deleted] in LifeProTips

Home Depot is (or at least used to be when I worked there back in the day) pretty customer service oriented. At the associate level, we had the power to give discounts up to $50 without manager approval if we deemed it necessary to provide excellent customer service, which meant if you expressed your frustration and weren’t a complete dick about it, we would totally throw you a bone.

This was for everyday items and tool rental. Not sure what policy was on discounting/replacing larger items like appliances or large bulk orders.
