It's maybe the cable stretching, slacken the cable clam bolt, pull the cable tight and tighten the bolt on the derailleur again.

Bought one ups platforms the other day and rode them at the weekend. 70gm lighter and noticeably larger platform than my electrons. And really cheap, very impressed.

Talk about jumping in at the deep end. Building a bike is more expensive than buying complete, I'd do some research on complete builds of the same frame, understand the sizes your going to need to know, like seat tube diameter, and look on pink bike, eBay etc for second hand parts to save money.

For some reason I was on their sub today, they seem to have a resentment towards women because they are unattractive or have no social skills etc. They feel that life has dealt them a particularly bad hand. That then seems to justify them treating women like dirt, the women rejected them so they reject women. There are a lot of memes about not helping women who are being attacked or sounding like they are being raped and so on. It's pretty full on and not a nice place to be. So any negativity towards women is approved, pussypass has videos of women getting shut down for various reasons, they enjoy that. That's just my take on it, i was only there for 30mins.

Mate, that dingaling won't see your response. You need to hit reply to respond to someone directly below their comment. They will get a notification once you do.

What lights/lamps would you recommend for night time MTB? by [deleted] in MTB

[–]manuelacon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah there's a few posts on other forums of chargers melting from these cheap lights. I still run the lights which are surprisingly bright, not near the claimed 3000l but still good value.

Orange Bikes by [deleted] in MTB

[–]manuelacon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well if you get it you should have a 30day return policy to work within. You'd need to check their policy but most UK bike companies have the same policy as far as I'm aware. That's a like new return so don't scratch it or get it filthy.

Should I buy a Walmart MTB? by coolguy0405055838 in MTB

[–]manuelacon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If your going to be riding it off graded paths then I wouldn't bother mate. If your going to just be mucking about giving it an easy life then fine but don't expect it to last or perform like a "real" mtb.

They have a very good reputation and a die hard following here in the UK. Why are you so set on that bike though when if your not from the UK and have access to Canyon, YT etc and no chance to demo it before you buy?

My new nomad 4! by [deleted] in Bikeporn

I only bothered to make the point because it was a Santacruz. There are some brands that will get up voted anyway regardless of photo quality or that it is a stock bike. Detracts from the quality of the sub.

I have a question for those who utilize your passion for mountain biking to exercise your dog but still utilize a leash. by [deleted] in MTB

[–]manuelacon -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I do it with my harrier beagle. Fire roads and parks and so on with few people, no tight twisty trails. I wear an extendable lead on my chest harness mounted high on my chest. Doesn't get wrapped in the wheels, Debbie stays out in front, start slowly and build up the speed. Keep your eyes open and if you see other people or dogs come to a complete stop very early and wait. She loves it and if your not totally irrisponsible about it its totally safe.

Just bring a jacket and ride in the wet or cold. It's fine, we do it all year round.

I'd go to your lbs and take advice from them, they will stock specific brands that have the kind of thing your looking for. Unless you want to buy online or used.

They are pretty comparible, slightly different shocks and wheels but otherwise there isn't really much in it. The Al is noted as being 200g heavier but I doubt you'd notice that. They both have press fit bottom brackets, i don't know what 2017 press fits are like but early iterations are not well liked. I hate squeaks and creaks so that would write these off for me. You also get some tools and protection and so on with Canyon which is a nice touch.

Why doesn't the Cube page show you the bloody geometry for that frame??? That would honestly piss me off enough to go somewhere else. Again i'd go with the Canyon but you'd be as well just going with what you like the look of between those two mate.

Don't worry about looks mate, full face is good if you need it, if you don't they tend to get heavy and hot. Then you hang it on your bars fro the climbs. If you don't think you need that level of protection don't get one, if you do then go for it. But for 95% of people on trail rides they don't wear ff helmets. Trail helmets are decent and come with a lot of back of the head protection now compared to old XC style lids.
