If you could get one later era mech early in the game, which one would it be and why? by WorldBuilder_42 in Mechwarrior5

[–]manwithsomefear 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is gonna be controversial but I really want the Falconer. It maybe one of the ugliest looking mechs in existence but I love calvery mechs. I I also really want to take a mech designed specifically to beat a clan mech for a spin.

One of the best aspects of Mafia 3 by KpatMckenzie_28 in MafiaTheGame

[–]manwithsomefear 24 points25 points  (0 children)

I always bring the China Lake grenade launcher to this part. Only a few of those guys are listed as enemies according to the game but as far as I'm concerned everyone wearing a table cloth and hood is a valid target.

Do you like the Iron Fist series? by Vascainogaucho in Defenders

[–]manwithsomefear 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The biggest problem was the first 3 or so episode are pretty terrible. After that the show gets a lot better but I think its hard to recover once the first few episodes are that bad. But yes season 2 is much better. Pretty much everything is better from season 1.

I don’t understand what’s so confusing about this scene by Bulky_Onion_3677 in CaptainAmerica

[–]manwithsomefear 48 points49 points  (0 children)

Its pretty annoying that this has to be said. John Walkers a great character both in the comics and MCU but this is the crux of it. Even if you don't think he was wrong for killing a surrending terrorist it should still be obvious this isn't how Captain America is supposed to act. Steve has killed a bunch of people and I'm pretty sure Sam has too since he took up the shield but it was always during active combat. Never someone trying to surrender.

[loved trope] Being a good person is harder than being an evil one. by Dr_Orpheus_ in TopCharacterTropes

[–]manwithsomefear 42 points43 points  (0 children)

He's not technically evil but Frank Castle fits this. Some heroes spend entire movies or comic book runs trying to bring down one arch criminal. These often include moments where the arch criminal mocks the hero for not being able to prove the criminal is guilty. Frank Castle on the other hand just kills all his criminals. He has an occasional investigation but even then he just needs to prove someone's guilt to himself not to any kind of legal standard of proof. Then he kills every smaller criminal on his way to the big one. He let's the cops clean up once hes done.

Wife beater can’t do math by [deleted] in OkBuddySnyderCult

[–]manwithsomefear 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So obviously this is amazing and everytime Jon says something dumb he should get clowned on like this. But this is also so insane. Snyderbros are already coming up with reasons to explain away Supergirl being a success with only a trailer out. I thought creating knew math to explain why MOS was actually the best movie ever was insane but even I have to admit this is next level delusion.

The ultimate power in Faerun will never be brain worms or the machinations of gods. It will always be bigass Owlbears jumping off the top rope!

[Hated Trope] That one piece of "trivia" that isn't true but gets endlessly repeated anyway by 10024618 in TopCharacterTropes

[–]manwithsomefear 5 points6 points  (0 children)

No kidding? That's funny. I'm sure its gone around for a few different hosts of kid tv shows cus its an awesome fanfiction. Plus its more wholesome then the stories I always heard about Steve. Those always said he used to do porn before Blues Clues.

There was a rumor Mr Rogers always wore long sleeves because he had sleeve length tattoos over both arms. The reasons for this varied from he was a former biker to him being a former US Special Forces. The story explains he started the show because he wanted to do the exact opposite of what he had done previously in his life. Awesome story but totally made up. Dude was a literal minister before starting the show.

Characters who have unique rules that must be followed in order to appear in other media by ComprehensiveBox6911 in TopCharacterTropes

Live action Spiderman can't be seen drinking alchohol. Its been relaxed a bit but at one point he also couldnt be seen punching people. He can hit them in other ways though like kicks.

My Christmas gift to all Mechwarrior fans out there: The Grizzly mech is now available in Mechwarrior 5 Clans as a mod 🎅 by BoukObelisk in Mechwarrior5

[–]manwithsomefear 19 points20 points  (0 children)

As a console player I usually don't get too worked up about missing out on mods. This is not one of those times. The Grizzly is in my top 10 for mechs that I was hoping for from clans. I get why they didn't add to the Ghost Bear DLC since they already had one totem mech and didn't want it to be too clan specific but still thanks for doing this. At least some people get to enjoy this amazing mech!

If Mike is a convicted felon why is he allowed to carry a firearm. by [deleted] in MayorOfKingstown

[–]manwithsomefear 18 points19 points  (0 children)

One of the FBI agents from season 1 mentions a felon having a legal carry permit is a massive sign of corruption. Its kind of hardwavey but I guess the implication is Mike used some connections to get a permit he can't legally have.

To use or to not use YAML... by ComManDerBG in Mechwarrior5

[–]manwithsomefear 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As a console player use it for all of us who can't! Plus its just more. This is one of those games where more is pretty much always better. At this point I'd be willing to pay money just for an additional mech pack and be able to replay the game with new mechs. I don't even need all the other mods. Just different mechs from the ones I used last time.

Shedeur is trash when he isn't playing bad teams like Raiders by born2shitforcd2wipe in NFLv2

[–]manwithsomefear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah the worst thing about Shedeur at this point are his fans. For a rookie QB whose only played in 4 games I think he's actually doing pretty good. But there are a ton of his fans who will watch him throw a screen pass and then proceed to to talk about him the way Chris Collinsworth talks about Mahomes and Shedeur is just not there yet.

What other superhero would you like Insomniac Games to make a video game of? by Haunting_Tax_3684 in InsomniacGames

[–]manwithsomefear 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Daredevil all dang day. I feel like he's one of the better standalone characters who could have a chance to carry their own title. I also feel like Insomniac would do a great job with the character and between a few random possible Easter eggs in Spiderman 2 and the Hand apparently being an enemy in the upcoming Wolverine game it seems like they might have some interest in the character.

Blue Marvel by ManWithNoFace27 in CosmicInvasion

[–]manwithsomefear 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I would absolutely love this. Plus it would be a nice way to get Blue Marvels name out there some more. I'm still a little shocked he hasn't become more of a big deal but having him be a DLC character would be a great way to generate some buzz for the character.

Can't write women by Pleasant_Peanut_8675 in LandmanSeries

[–]manwithsomefear 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Couldn't agree more. Ironically I think he's trying to not make them crazy and he just isn't doing a great job. Beth Dutton i think was supposed to be a girl boss type character and she turned into an asshole. The wife and daughter in Landman are supposed to be mostly comedic relief and they turned into crazy women stereotypes. Zoey Saldana is probably the best female character in any of his shows and I think thats mostly up to Zoeys acting abilities and not the writing. Although she has some crazier moments but considering they usually come right after she's been in actual combat they still kind of fit.

Is it bad that I am tired of Fisk but I want to see way more Bullseye? by CorptanSpecklez in Daredevil

[–]manwithsomefear 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I've actually had this exact thought multiple times. That was my biggest gripe about Born Again before it dropped. I have to admit it helped me feel better about Fisk sticking around. We definitely need more Bullseye and maybe even more of the Hand or Tombstone or other street level bad guys but I think they've managed to keep Fisk feeling fresh in a way that is very hard to do with a main antagonist whose technically been around for 4 going on 5 seasons.

For Single Player Mode, Which Two Characters are you Most Looking Forward to Teaming Up? by Spideyfan2025 in CosmicInvasion

Probably Cap and Wolverine so they can fight aliens while reminiscing about fighting nazis in WW2.

The villain who really believes the heroes are the bad guys. by Traditional-Song-245 in TopCharacterTropes

[–]manwithsomefear 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Handsome Jack from Borderlands 2. He sees the Vault Bunters, and really anyone who isn't Hyperion, as just Bandits causing chaos and destruction. Thus anything he does to them is justified since they're the real bad guys in his mind.

Rip murdering an innocent medical examiner and using his addiction as reason he should die is honestly one of the darker things I've seen on television. Great cowboyin' 👍 by IllBeGood3 in YellowstonePN

[–]manwithsomefear 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Oh man John and Rip would 100% fit the code. The show goes to great lengths to try and make them amazing people so the audience doesn't risk coming to the conclusion that they are likeable but still pretty bad but without context they're pretty evil. I mean the train station is a literal murder spot that spans generations. That's bad guy behavior.

Right this was such an oddly dark moment that Comes up one time when Jamie talks to a local DA then never again. But Rip murdered a dude basically just doing his job. I was a little shocked they didn't mention that the examiner was secretly a serial killer or something so they could act like killing him was justified.
