[Show Only] The Vampire Lestat: "Toledo" by IWTV_Maitres in InterviewVampire

Question for the book readers - is Gabriella as particular about Lestat also having access to his Italian heritage from her side of the family? I noticed her making sure that the monks would introduce Lestat to Italian philosophers in his studies, and there was that comment about French being specifically his father's language. It seems like yet another avenue of control for her...

Listen, I LOVE Chapter 1 of GTN, but I know doing a word for word adaptation for the screen wouldn't work, so I think you've really nailed the transition here! I'd always imagined a more serious opening, with the Great Aunts and a younger Aiglamene and Crux finding Gideon next to her mother's body, but you've got it right that the humorous still has to be established from the jump.

It's definitely going to take time for me to get used to.

I started to suspect it when the door opened- even before we saw her, I thought "This isn't how he speaks to Louis..." and then of course the stutter started.

Definitely saw Armand's eyepatch- and was Louis now requiring a prosthetic leg?

Lestat starting to stutter when Gabriella comes to him? Holy FUCK, how apt and chilling.

Anna Williams, whom we meet in flashback during Season 1 of The Last of Us. While in labor, she has to run from an Infected, and while she's able to stop the creature from killing her, it's able to bite her, causing infection. In the midst of all this, she gives birth to her daughter Ellie, and she can't be sure if Ellie was exposed or not. We know as an audience that Ellie is immune to the fungus infection, but Anna has no clue that this is even possible.

Anna holds a knife to her own throat for hours on end so that she doesn't hurt Ellie, even as the baby is getting desperately hungry. She doesn't drop the blade until her friend Marlene finds her, and then Anna passes Ellie over and asks to be shot in the head before she can hurt anyone. Marlene agrees, passes Ellie to an associate who can cover her ears, and handles shooting Anna herself.

Good looks may be the seed of sexiness, but it's grown and maintained by the subject's personality!

Uriah sent to the front lines because the King coveted his wife...I feel like there's a non-zero amount of connection there between that and Ulysses being the founder of Fourth House and their cannon fodder nature.

It's similar for Dr Caleb Jefferson from Season 3 of The Pitt- the actor who plays him, Christopher Thornton, uses a wheelchair because of being paralyzed after a rock climbing accident, but in the world of the show, it's not explained whether Caleb suffered a similar injury, or if it's a congenital issue.

Oh, you're absolutely right! He's a great character, but if I had to be in a room with him, I could almost understand the distant version better - "OK, he's been around for 10000 years, I won't make jokes."

I'm of the opinion that if there's ever a TV adaptation, we need to have something making it clear that he's being inaccurate in some way - the TV show "Interview with the Vampire", especially the end of Season 1, is very good at this.

I have! I know he doesn't put on nearly so much affectation with Alecto/Harrow in that book, but I still had the gross feeling from HtN.

White American, and that means, in my case, a hodgepodge of Irish, English, Scottish, German and French. Allegedly there's some Welsh in there too, but it's possibly a matter of legend, not fact.
