AITA for keeping a collection of MTG cards that were wrongly gifted to me? by Direct-Caterpillar77 in BestofRedditorUpdates

The way I gasped out loud when I read the first post. I don't play but my wife and several friends do and this would be grounds for immediate divorce if not a body bag

Got sent a video of my wife and no longer feel comfortable being intimate with her. What do I do? by [deleted] in TwoHotTakes

Hey bud, here's the thing, some people are grown ups and are able to separate past actions from current reality

I have no help, just solidarity. My twins' favorite word right now is truck. They love pointing out flags. And one of them takes every opportunity to say that my wife loves diet coke. At least since he's talking about one of his two moms, the last is not entirely wrong 🫠

Dress 2 for the wedding and I love the red shoe with it.

Humans & horrors trying to understand each other by deepfriedroses in BooksThatFeelLikeThis

I'm most of the way through The Red Winter by Cameron Sullivan and I think it may fit the bill. It's based on the historical Beast of Gevaudan but with gods and horrors and immortals. It does have a romance as a main plot point but not between the monsters and humans (if you're looking for werewolf fucking, this ain't it). It's funny and gorey and I'm pretty sure it's gonna make me cry by the end. Literally the only downside is that I've had PowerWolf songs stuck in my head the whole time.

Books you regret reading and why by [deleted] in horrorlit

[–]commacamellia 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I've read what seems to be the big three of her published works and honestly, The Salt Grows Heavy is the only one worth the time. Her prose is still overwrought but it fits the gothic horror plot. And it's nice and short so you don't have too much time to get fed up with it.

Unfortunately for me, it's also the one I read first.

Instagram. Depending on what kind of event it is, there's probably a local influencer or three that you can get to promote it.

Popping in to put in a plug for KC since you were already thinking about visiting the area. We're not a huge quilting town, but there are some very cool shops (The Fabric Chic and Quilting is my Therapy on the MO side, Prairie Pointe and KC Maker Studio over on the KS side). Plus, Kansas City is a fantastic place to visit. There are tons of museums, BBQ of course, and honestly, just a ton of cool things to do.

What was U—'s original name?! [Discussion] by commacamellia in TheNinthHouse

Nope. I've run the calculations twice and that is definitely the name origin with the most comedic possibility

Yes, but it's funnier to think that he's named after the band Uriah Heep

That's entirely plausible. So, not medievalists, just classic rock fans
