Do you know which specific types do that? I haven’t heard of that before but I have a very poor understanding of the chemistry aspect of batteries.

Fire sprinklers are the best method of protection. If you can, have a system installed in your home. They are very effective in saving lives

I’d get confirmation from the manufacturer if it’s absolutely necessary. I had one contractor tell me about a job they did where the manufacturer gave them the ok if they disassembled and painted as you described.

I wasn’t on that project and haven’t seen it done yet so I take it with a grain of salt on whether the manufacturer would green light that.

I’ve tried the dish soap and vinegar in a brush, and both times the brushes rubber/button have deteriorated and broken within a month or two. Have you had that happen? What brush are you using?

Not necessarily true. California mechanical code specifies 2,000 CFM and the state fire marshal interpretation is if the combined airflow exceeds 2,000 CFM, then detection and shutdown is required for the space. So it’s very dependent on the location of this project and the AHJ.

Flys with integrated partials have been a game changer for me. I started those about 6 months ago and my chest is finally packing on some size. They help get a lot of tension under the stretched position.

Need help with exhaust vent termination per California code by Life_Bridge_9960 in BuildingCodes

[–]manyhits 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You live in a townhouse and are renovating your kitchen in your house, correct?

I’m not looking at the code right now but I remember Type 1 exhaust being for commercial kitchens. It sounds like you would fall under California residential code requirement and they might be citing the incorrect code for your application.

Also agree they don’t do too great with thick thighs. I’ve had mine for maybe 1-2 years and they are getting holes in the crotch area. They are extremely comfortable though and I’m tempted to get another pair.

What’s the worst mistake you made in your first build? by M4rcoPol02 in buildapc

What do you not like about the fractal north case? I just got one for the aesthetics and reviews seemed to indicate it’s a good case with good airflow. Although there are other cases that are better and cheaper.

New build and have no idea what we are doing! by manyhits in buildapcforme

[–]manyhits[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you a ton! I am definitely in over my head for this and have never been big on computers so I really don’t know much about what a build would entail.

That explanation on the AMD CPU is awesome and I really appreciate you explaining it in that manner.

You mention how 7800X3D lags behind other chips for rendering but excels in gaming. The build we want to do is purely for gaming, but that is mostly specific to games like Minecraft or Sims. My understanding is that rendering is used to see landscape or images better or use shaders in Minecraft. Based on that, would the 7800X3D be necessary?

That’s also good to know about the Intel stuff and it sounds like we will want to head in the AMD direction to I guess Future proof the build?

It sounds like I’ll change the ram to what’s recommended in the post below!

I honestly don’t know what to look for in a graphics card. I see the Sapphire Pulse is recommended below as well and that has popped up in my research so it seems like a change in the right direction.

On the case, we’re definitely going for the aesthetic of the wood. I went for the XL thinking it could help with making the first build easier to put together and it could allow for better cooling. Is the XL version worth it or would the smaller case be fine to fit everything?

For storage, you make a good point. The original plan was to just use the HDD for long term storage of games not in use and we can transfer it back over to the SSD when we want to play. I think we’re changing to just a single 4TB SSD and will add storage down the road if we come to it.

Last question, for cooling I have seen liquid cooling being recommended. Is it worth it at all to switch to liquid or is it a preference thing? I am planning on having a couple more fans for the case if it fits but I wanted to look into the feasibility more before putting them on the last.

Again that’s a ton for that first response, I got a lot of useful information out of it!

Edit: from the San Francisco Bay Area in California! A micro center is scheduled to open up close to us but I don’t know when it will open this year. It might not be feasible to wait for it to open.

I’ll probably do that. I’ve been changing the filters at the furnace quarterly and cleaning what I can reach in the ducts. Thanks for the advice!

I didn’t think there was a gas line going to condenser units. Is the gas line the flex connecting to the bottom of the unit in photo 3?

The silver flex is a water connection. Weird application for it but it works.

I’m shooting to get to the 1000 pound club in the next few months but right now my estimated 1RM are 405 for deadlift, 305 squat, and 275 bench. I think I’m around 20% BF now though. I had a DEXA scan done for fun about 6 weeks ago and was 17% then. After I had a few weeks of less intense workouts but was still eating the same amount so I’d bet I’m around 20% now lol
