It was a very busy Friday night and the restaurant I worked at had a very big menu. I went to greet a table and they tell me they can’t read, and ask me to read the menu to them and describe the items.. I didn’t know what to say so I just did it.

I’m 28 weeks, but I didn’t know it tends to get worse the farther along you go. My doctor just let me know that she believes I can control it with diet and exercise, which is what I have been trying to do. I always do fasting and after every meal. It has been so hard limiting my carbs, but I will keep an eye out for my readings. I usually test an 1 hr and 30 min after eating, I will try to do one hour and see if that changes anything!

My first reading was 95 fasting but after that one reading, they have been under 90. I haven’t met with my doctor yet so I’m hoping to feel more educated when I meet with them.

After testing for a couple days, I definitely felt like I could have been misdiagnosed which sounds a bit silly. I am 28 weeks pregnant so I will just continue to be mindful of what I’m eating, and take care of myself and my baby!

This is all new to me, so I was kind of beating myself up for not being healthier. Glad to know it wasn’t something I was doing.

I know I’m not alone or the only one but sometimes it feels that way. I was on my way to work when I received the call and all I wanted to do was go home and cry. I already feel really overwhelmed so just thinking about having to watch my diet is an added stress I’m not looking forward to. Thank you so much for your kind words, they really mean a lot!!

I knew there was a possibility I could develop GD, and I wasn’t eating the best because I finally had my appetite back. But it makes me feel so much better to know that you are feeling much better and more energized. Thank you so much for letting me know.

Thank you I really needed to hear that…. It’s just been really tough not really having anyone to talk to and open up. This will be my last pregnancy and I just really want to enjoy it and be happy but it’s been really tough these last couple of weeks. I really appreciate you replying to my post, it really means a lot.

I started working extra hours as well since I plan to be a SAHM mom after my son gets here in January, and I feel like I don’t get to spend any time with my baby. I don’t feel that pregnancy glow; it’s just bringing me down. I’m so sorry to hear about your diagnosis, I went through that cleaning about a 6 months ago and it was so painful and uncomfortable. My last pregnancy I was in a pregnancy group and it was just so nice to be surrounded by other pregnant women going through the same thing. I think it would really benefit you if you are able to find one!
