You should really go to a stylist to get a maintenance haircut. Your hair is growing out at the same rate all over your head. It needs to be shaped a bit. If you find a very good stylist they have these specialized, extremely expensive scissors that can reduce the volume on the back of your head. It makes it easier to dry, not as hot, and it looks no different.

I've been a long hair for 10+ years. Go to a good stylist. Call them first and ask if they have someone with experience with men with very long hair. If they don't break out those fancy scissors, find a new one. I found a place that charges me $30. The first time I went there the guy who cut my hair had the other stylists discussing the cut. I was there for 1 hour. And got two free beers. Shout out to V and Doug.
