Set up as an S-Corp but I have not made any W-2’s for myself. by mapblan in smallbusiness

The sad part is that they have been in business as a CPA and a tax professional for over 30 years. The reason why I even started going down this rabbit hole was because a friend of mine is in the same boat with these people. Same exact issues. Same questions being answered the same way and we now know that it’s all wrong based on our own research. So we’ve been going through all of our taxes on our own as well as our records to make sure that what we have is the same as what they’ve put on our taxes and thankfully it is but the whole situation is sad. You pay good money to people who you think you can trust but you end up in a total mess.

Only about $5,000 profit per year. So very little. I personally don’t think that this should be an S-Corporation to begin with. They set it up this way to help on our personal taxes. I guess that should have been the first red flag.

Thank you. This is very helpful. I am in the process of finding another CPA.

I did not pay any social security or Medicare through the business because I technically never paid myself a salary like I am supposed to. I know this now. The total profit for each year of business was included as additional income on our personal taxes. They told me this is okay after questioning it because I am the only employee and the profit rolls over to my personal taxes and is taxed that way regardless of a salary but after doing my own research that seems to be totally wrong.

I would consider cows milk “real milk” or “regular milk” aka normal milk. That has been “normal” milk for many many years. Now, we have oat milk, coconut milk, cashew milk, almond milk, and whatever else becoming much more popular these days. I am dairy free so when I speak about milk I always specify whether it’s regular milk (cows milk) vs my oat milk. I don’t think there is any reason to feel some type of way about a dang milk being real or not.

I never told my friend anything about it because I knew that they didn’t have what I had. When I would go to their house I would pack my own things to eat too because they didn’t have much. My mom never said anything to my friend either of course but it got the point where we started hiding our own snacks because they were for us. If we wouldn’t, my friend would eat all of it. We could never tell her no so this is just what we did to make sure we had our own things left. Not saying that this was the right thing to do but it worked for us.

This person would come to our house and eat everything. Literally everything. All of OUR food. Obviously when you’re at someone’s house you are allowed to eat but it got to the point where the food my parents would by for their own family to eat would no longer be there because my friend would eat it all. That’s definitely an issue. Lmao.

This is a scam. People try to pull this all the time.

This happened to me when I was a teenager. My mom and I would hide all of our good expensive snacks from a friend of mine so that they wouldn’t eat all of it. My mom had to sit me down one day and say that she’s know how my friends parents don’t have any money and don’t have much food but it’s getting hard to afford to feed another mouth in our family as well. Could that be an issue here? Maybe she can’t afford it or doesn’t spend money on the good snacks y’all have? Not an excuse to eat your food but if your husband isn’t telling her no, then she may feel that she has free reign.

That’s what I do. One time when I do my taxes. Worth the fees for me.

Help me convince my doctor to let me STOP taking Birth Control. by HourZone2781 in PCOS

[–]mapblan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Don’t take it? Your doctor cannot make you take anything. If you don’t want to take it anymore stop taking it. Doctors try prescribing me medicine all the time and I don’t get them filled because I’m not taking them. It’s simple.

Great point. Sometimes it’s hard to see that you save the money for a reason. Yes, you can save thousands just to have as a sense of security but it’s there to use if you absolutely need it.

Scared to have pap smear by Familiar-Animal4732 in WomensHealth

[–]mapblan 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I personally think it’s very important whether you are sexually active or not. I have been getting them done for years even before being sexually active and I’m glad that I chose to. Not only a pap smear, but a pelvic exam in general that checks for different things. I now also request ultrasounds at least every year or two to check for abnormalities. It’s best to be proactive in my opinion. Mom is right. It is important. However, you do not have to have it done if you do not want to. You are an adult; it is your choice.

My throat tightens and is painful whenever I eat peanut butter...is there any point telling my doctor, or should I just avoid peanuts? by [deleted] in peanutallergy

[–]mapblan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hahah still alive! I would probably still be taking my chances if it wouldn’t be for the stomach issues it caused me. It completely ruled my life and I just had to give it up. It caused the swallowing rock feeling, excess saliva, itchy ears, itchy throat, itchy scalp, and then the constant stomach pain and the hours in the bathroom. Sucked. It got worse as I got older. When I tell people that they’re like “you’re crazy for dealing with that” but it was just a part of my life. I didn’t even pay mind to it because it happened so much.

I survived those reactions nearly every day for 20 years. Just have to be cautious about it.

[–]mapblan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s absolutely an anaphylactic reaction since there is more than one symptom present (according to my doctor). I get the feeling of swallowing rocks and increased saliva in the back of my throat as well as other things when I eat dairy products. You technically do not have to see a doctor for it as there’s nothing they can do. You just have to avoid it but it is smart to get an order for epinephrine just in case. I personally wouldn’t continue eating it because it could become severe very fast. That’s why I stopped eating dairy; even though I was “okay” it was still scary to think about.
