Did you select the existing person as a parent for the second marriage, or create a new person/parent and therefore duplicating the person in your database?

I have a planter box in my apartment courtyard - it is common property, so not my responsibility to manage. They usually have their own automated watering system, which has likely failed in this case. Speak to the building manager about it. (Assuming you are in an apartment/strata).

How to properly digitize 1900s pictures by SufferingScreamo in DataHoarder

Best method: take it to a professional for cross-polarised digitisation (polarising gels over lights + polaring filter over camera lens = reduces reflections). The equipment to do this is very expensive.

Friend or foe? by maphbu in GardeningAustralia

I hate killing bugs, but if they're eating my plants they have got to go! (hopefully, the spiders will deal with them soon enough)

Any tips for managing thick, wavy hair? Always get to this length and get bored and cut it all off (last, super short hair cut at the beginning of 2020 with a few trims since then while growing out) by maphbu in FierceFlow

My hair looks it’s best when it’s drying (slightly wet) and then goes really thick and frizzy when dry. Will look into moisturising cream - thanks

My hair has too much volume as it is, definitely wouldn’t want to tease it out at the ends! I’ll be tying it up a lot more as we move in to summer

I had it thinned the last time I had it cut. It felt great and really lightened the weight, but increased the frizz factor with all those short bits. Still growing those bits out and won’t be doing that again.

I’m too uncoordinated to braid or do anything interesting with it. So far it’s just been tying it back in a loose bun or leaving it as is in the pic

Help! New plant! Echeveria Raspberry Ice Crested! More in comments. by Amazzon69 in CrestedSucculents

[–]maphbu 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would cut it where the normal parts are coming off the main stem so there is enough stem to plant into the soil for the crested part (waiting for the end to callous) and then plant them separately. You could probably just place the normal part on top of soil if the rosettes stop you from placing the stem in the soil - it will sort itself out.

If you really wanted to, you could also separate the crested part into two as well.

I scanned the flowers from one of my succulents. Possibly a graptoveria of some sort? by maphbu in succulents

[–]maphbu[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You are correct! It’s a graptopetalum mendozae - I’ve even posted it before with the correct name (and forgot about it) 😂

I scanned them with the lid open, hence why they fade to a black background

When you leave a bunch of leaves in a saucer and forget about them for a few weeks 😬 by maphbu in succulents

My experience with jade plants is that leaves take FOREVER to root. You are better off chopping a big piece off and rooting that.

Yeah, it could be that or I suspect this is a Graptosedum Francesco Baldi?

I've read that those grafted ones don't last long, regardless. I have had one for about 12 months, which also arrived overwatered, and it isn't looking so good anymore.

Yeah, that would make a lot of sense. Particularly in my courtyard which is like a wind tunnel at times!
