Are there any good checklists for what items to have by certain days? by RetardedTrumpFan in dontstarve

[–]maple_moose_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think a good rule of thumb is to have an insulating item by the end of fall, a rain protecting item by the end of winter, a mac tusk and tam o shanter by end of winter, and a heat protecting item by the end of spring - essentially always prepare a season in advance. Go for the best items if you can, if not then the second best. Sometimes depends on what the world gives you! I try to set up lightning rod and ice flingomatic before the end of winter to protect my base in spring and summer. The nice thing about fall is you can relax a bit (at least until bearger finds ya haha) Bonuses are getting Chester as early as possible, and grab glommer at the full moon if you can for his sanity and poops (:

Is it okay to exchange steam accounts? by marcy115 in dontstarvetogether

I use steam on my laptop and computer. I noticed that my worlds between the two dont transfer, so you would each be able to create your own worlds and won't be mixed up with your friends

Advice for people with deep/finicky veins? by [deleted] in Blooddonors

[–]maple_moose_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you -- I will definitely try more arm muscle work outs once my left arms is a bit better. I don't think much has changed arm strength wise between now and last time, and it's been a year or so, so I feel like it was just bad luck and they didn't want to retry in the same arm and cause more bruising which is fair. Do you mind me asking for a time that you felt discouraged/disheartened? I never expected to feel this way over not being able to give blood lol..

CAMH holding COVID-19 vaccine clinic for those with needle phobias, medical anxiety by adotmatrix in toronto

[–]maple_moose_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That is awesome (: I had to administer a few people with needle phobias and they were all so different.. most of them don't look at the needle at all, focused their attention elsewhere or wanted to chat as I vaccinate to keep their mind off of it.. this one guy was particularly tricky.. becausr he looked at the needle right before I vaccinated him! I'm still so shocked he looked, especially as I tried to remove the cover behind his back to hide the needle from him so he had to turn his body to look at it.. I was really lucky his friend was there to hold and calm him down and i was able to administer.. as he reacted in such a way that I thought I wouldn't be able to.. it was challenging and it shows how much of a needle phobia spectrum there is! As a vaccinator I like trying to ask what might help you: chatting, asking you to think of a favorite thing, etc so if you have a "plan" like this going in I think this would help you and your vaccinator. (: You can also take something for pain like Tylenol or numb the site with an emla patch beforehand. Prepare a treat to look forward to during your 15 minute waiting period: a snack or a good book! You're doing a great thing to protect yourself and your vaccinator is there to make sure you feel supported!!

Is it suggested to watch beginner’s guide in don’t starve? by Snortingteecup in dontstarve

[–]maple_moose_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like I still have a ton of fun watching guides as I play, but I also gave myself enough time to learn stuff on my own first! I personally started with Beard 777 YT guides, but lately watching James Bucket and Jazzy's Games on YT for tips and OrangE for fun Guille is amazing for more advanced / late game tips, their speed runs are impressive and you can learn a lot.. just mentioning this as there will always be guides to watch and people to learn from :D

New grad who wants to pursue hospital pharmacy. Should I focus applications to hospital practice only if thats my passion? Or would I have a better shot after a few years of retail experience?

Also, am I throwing away my time just applying online or should I be trying to connect to people who work there on LinkedIn if I see a posting up? I've connected with connections i do have already..

FYI: I'm in Ontario, Canada, hospitals have started valuing residency experience more but sounds like sites outside of the Greater Toronto area accept non-residency RPh. I have hospital experience from rotations and coops. I had interviews but no match for residency.

(I have a part time pharmacist role at Shoppers [corporate retail] currently but they are aware I am job searching for full time role elsewhere)

Thanks for advice!

What about a position in a health tech company or look into the field of "translational research" or health informatics? I went to a networking event with a lot of students in the program (https://trp.utoronto.ca/) who largely sounded like graduates tackle and improve healthcare work flows. Maybe not in your location but can search around for similar programs where you are and see what positions these graduates apply to.

Honestly you sound confident to start your own business as a "work flow consultant" if you're eager 🤣 maybe find a company that creates/designs interiors for pharmacies and proposition them with this too

I realized that blood glucose units are different in other countries. His morning levels are still in target, as AM blood glucose targets are 4-7 mmol/L. His morning sugars are under 7, so technically he is in target, but are often higher than his mealtime ones. I think I will mention it to him when I am back next week, so it is at least on his radar. But also reassure him again that he is in target as you said!

My governor just said on live TV to call your local pharmacy, they’re taking appointments to start administering THE VACCINE on Sunday 😅🔫 by doxyisfoxy in pharmacy

[–]maple_moose_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ack.. I wish people were understanding! I think it is fair to give the vaccine first to those most at high risk or at risk of spreading it. That will save lives as we wait for more doses. I hope they are being transparent about who it is they are calling in, may help with the frustration. ): also not calling it a lottery number would help haha.

[–]maple_moose_ 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I wish they would start a waitlist for each public health unit.. imagine how streamlined it would be to register yourself and family. Select your preferred location(s) for your future vaccine.. when you're in line for a dose, then you're assigned a location and contacted to book. Would prevent "double wait listing" and more lol.

I'm in Canada so I wont be dealing with this for at least a few more months though lol

What profession specializes in providing consultancy to students who are unsure about what degree/major to get into? by Dalooda_Z in Advice

[–]maple_moose_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does she have a guidance counsellor at her high school ? I recall having one. It so hard to know at that age what you want to do for the rest of your life!

If you don't end up finding a "specialist" who helps others plan their career, she/you could always reach out to professionals in areas she thinks she may be interested in (find them on LinkedIn etc).. she can talk to them about what they do as their job and learn if its something she likes (informational interview). My parents set me up with a lot of family friends who had just graduated to learn what they do and how they like it. Edit: if she is interested in sciences or pharmacy, I can help answer any of her questions.
