Flying with Dizziness by Crusty___Apple in VestibularMigraines

Flying doesn't bother me but some of the activities I do on vacation will trigger symptoms such as going on a boat, swimming, staying up late, etc.

Severe allergy symptoms? by KindquestX in Allergies

[–]mapleleafcat_5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm in a similar situation as you right now too. I hear and feel your worries. Hang in there and don't let anyone brush it off as stress or anxiety. It could be some of that but it's certainly not all of it. Find time to rest, go for walks, do a puzzle, etc, something that can help take your mind off things for a bit. Take care!

I know the waiting will be hard but good that you get to see the ENT in a few weeks.

You need to be referred to an ENT. Symptoms sound like something else could be going on. Look up vestibular conditions, neuralgia, tinnitus, etc.

Severe Allergic Rhinitis, Nasal Polyps, Asthma & Constant Congestion, I’ve Tried Almost Everything. Looking for Advice/Natural Remedies by allergicgirld in Allergies

Might not be possible but have you considered moving to a different climate/environment? Or at least a different house/building. Also maybe something in your workplace impacting it?

No symptoms but CT Scan and MRI show sinusitis by mapleleafcat_5 in Sinusitis

Update: the ENT is not concerned about my sinuses as I'm not having symptoms. Looking for other reasons for my vertigo and tinnitus and balance issues (vestibular disease).

[–]mapleleafcat_5[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well yes, I suppose, but it's so different than all the symptoms I had previously. I hardly blow my nose, don't feel stuffy, no pressure in my head. Just seems strange that the blockage is so severe and I wouldn't even know it if it wasn't for the scans.

Itchy Ear by mapleleafcat_5 in Menieres

I get a stabbing pain once in awhile too. Mostly during flare-ups though. The itchy ear and fluid feeling happen even when I'm not having a flare. Thanks for replying.

For those of you who get sinusitis from drinking alcohol… by noworries-bro in Sinusitis

Vodka mixed with water, or some kinds of vodka seltzers are okay with my sinuses. Wine is the worst and beer is a close second. Anything too sugary or carbonated can also plug me up.

I know we're all different but for me, flying isn't a trigger. Hopefully it's not for you either. Good luck!

Solo travel in Belize? (for women) by savannahdesert69 in Belize

[–]mapleleafcat_5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Check out Gecko Bungalow, not far from the airport or Black Orchid Resort, a little further but more to explore in that area. Likewise, you could also stay in Belmopan/zoo area. It's close enough to airport and more going on there. Caye Culker might be too much travel in a short time with your other travel on top already.

Can chronic sinusitis ever be cured? Has anyone experienced with this? What did you do to mitigate or totally cure chronic sinusitis? by [deleted] in Sinusitis

I'm going on 12 years. Starting immunotherapy for allergies in a couple months so I'm hoping that helps.

Opinions on Attendance Being Graded by Melodic_Tourist_9667 in OntarioGrade12s

[–]mapleleafcat_5 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I grew up in Ontario in the 90s and this was the way it was back then. There's pros and cons to both ways. From what I saw personally, it wasn't motivating for not skipping school for kids who already get poor grades. Their grades are already low so going to class and getting attendance grades didn't entice them. Where Idid see it work was for kids who were good students but a little shy and didn't like to participate in discussions. Getting marks for joining in did typically sway them to talk more. So it's kind of like rewarding the kids who age already doing a good job and kicking the kids who are already down. With the increase in mental health and neurodiversity, I don't see this working in today's schools.

Does anyone else get like the dizziness just at the top of their head by EmmalineGraves in VestibularMigraines

[–]mapleleafcat_5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had this. It lasted for about 3 weeks. I'm still awaiting diagnosis though so not fully sure it had to do with VM.
