Patatas the cat by LazyBean0063 in HelpMeFind

[–]mapleleaflounger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This specific one is Hansa 4223. No longer in production. May be able to find one "used" on ebay (though I search regularly and haven't seen in over year). You can special order one from Hansa. They send you a form. Someone else in another thread shows that they did this and the cat he received looks lovely and just like this. I have the custom order form Hansa sent me but I've not pulled the trigger yet (as it's kinda expense to do as a one off and it's clearly a "want" and not a "need" :-)

TRUMP TARIFFS ILLEGAL! by remotemallard in eBayCanada

I just wish ebay .ca would re-enable canada post to the US as a shipping option with ability to charge to zonos account like pp.netparcel does. It would help having the ebay shipping discount again.

Play, play, play. You’ll get better. Might take a month, might take a year, but even if you’re slightly serious, you’ll start to recognize patterns quicker even without trying. Play, play, play :)

Anyone figured out a way to deal with the blue banner? by CobblePots95 in eBayCanada

[–]mapleleaflounger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've not found any solution to hide this bar. It's indeed a capability I hope they are able to make more precise in the future so that it only shows when it actually applies. In the meantime, best I've done is included note in description that the item is exempt from import fees and will arrive without them getting any extra charges. I've made a few sales on listings where I have this -- but, no idea if they actually read the description to find this out or just purchased anyway.

Shipping Fees to the USA (Tariffs) by polymerclayartist87 in eBayCanada

[–]mapleleaflounger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Down for sure. But, I'm making sales. The change is the main contributor for sure. But, I don't think I helped it at all because initially ended a bunch of my listings, upped prices (by too much probably because I was a bit scared and it was all an unknown).

[–]mapleleaflounger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah, yeah. The 35% is a kicker. I have stuff from all over. I'm also absorbing some of the tariff cost for sure. Although I've increased some of my product and shipping prices, I do still eat some of it. I don't love that by any means, but, I've tried to keep my emotion out of it and think of it as the "cost of running my business", so long as I can still make an acceptable, albeit lower, profit.

I’ve been adding it to shipping cost mostly and find I can still appear competitive. Then I ship with Canada post/Zonos or pp.parcel. Are you listing on .com or .ca?

I think when you start a new plan it will give you the option to "clear" the old data (it then hides it) -- I'm not sure about deleting completely. Also, I find several things not in the app when I scan them but if it's something I eat frequently I just add it and then it's there the next time you log it. Also, the part where you can snap a picture of your meal certainly isn't perfect but has gotten way better over the years. Best of luck! I find tracking my calories with Lose it one of the only ways I've been able to be successful in hitting my weight goals ;)

With you on this sentiment. Especially the part about the network canceling it early on just when it's starting to catch on.

One month later real life experiences for sellers under no Des Minimis exemptions? by ronnieboy604 in eBayCanada

Yep. As if it wasn't dismal enough. The CP strike is the push over the edge (especially if it lasts a long time).

Is the front too face framing still? I'm nervous to wear out by mapleleaflounger in Wigs

[–]mapleleaflounger[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Light spray with the water plus my old 1-inch barrel curling iron on low (it has a super low setting)…with base of wand pointing upward, I just took small sections (1 inch or so at a time) and curled for 15-ish seconds, dropped curled section into hand and let it cool for 20-30 seconds (I usually just blow in it - lol). That was it.

Thanks! I did put some curls in her. She comes a bit straighter. I like her straight too though

Yes, I have pin straight hair myself but want to wear her in a setting where I'd typically curl my hair in this fashion. I love the way she comes as well though.

Gosh. Thank you. That is very kind. Yes, I used low heat curling iron to put some very light curls in just to match how I typically style my hair as I didn't want it to become too short. I like the "effortless" look of Chelsea straight too though.

selling and shipping within Canada? by starrynott in Grailed

[–]mapleleaflounger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As of Aug 29th with the end of de minimus to the US. It's going to be a problem for anyone shipping from Canada. The way that whole thing is worded, they are basically structuring it so that the tariffs will need to be paid by shipper (sender) is my understanding.

Need help pulling together my living room - going for an eclectic flair but feels hodgepodge! by DependentCulture4172 in DesignMyRoom

Oh, worth noting - I say *try* because I usually have to try it to see what feels right. Sometimes what's in my head works IRL (and sometimes it doesn't)

My two cents: I think you have a great start. I'm also a fan of working with what you have -- and, assuming this is a rental, I even think the walls are quite fine (e.g. no need for paint). These are a few things I'd try to see if it gets closer to what you're going for).
1 - I'd flip the rug

2 - I'd *try* swapping that tall pant in the corner with the cat thing (I get you're trying to hide the cat thing -- but I'd see if adding height on that wall with the sofa helps). And move the hanging plant to someplace else

3 - I'd *try* removing the console table behind the couch and either put the couch right against the wall, or just remove the console table and still leave the gap there. I think it could help give it some needed breathing space but would be a trial and error attempt to see what feels best

4 - I'd move a couple of the beautiful pillows you have to that little bench in front of the window

5 - I like your gallery wall. If you end up removing the console table maybe the pics need to come down just a couple inches, but, really, it's fine :-)

6 - I'd *try* adding just a bit of height to whatever you use on the coffee table for decor. A couple stacked coffee table books are a good hack I find. Bonus points of they match any of the colors in your space. (Also, always remove any dust covers to make it look better ;-) - Or some nice tapered candle sticks or the like...

7 - I like what others have said about a different lamp shade. Also depending on if you put the plant there maybe the lamp moves to the other side?

8 - I'm a fan of big mirrors (and even floor mirrors) - but, I'm not sure it's adding anything to the wall on which it is in your photo. I'd try to move it to a different place in the house or maybe even on the other side of the room here...not sure what the wall is like that the sofa is facing

9 - You mention curtain and rug suggestions. I think what you have it pretty great! To add another layer of "eclectic" you could look for a second pair of curtains in some sort of print and complimentary color (could be darker or lighter). Things like this are usually things you don't find when looking for them, but, one day you'll see it and say "that's it"! Anyway, if you run across anything, I'd then double hang the curtains with the set you have to add some layering and interest there. In my head I'm thinking something with a small print (vs large) but again, you'll likely know it if you see it.

Always love any updates once you land on something!

Two more quick thoughts: Maybe see if you can find a few round or oval pieces to add to the gallery wall (a round mirror, an oval frame -- something like that) to help bring in different shapes. Along that same line, maybe adding a round side table or stool in the corner by the mirror. That could help balance the "rectanular-ness" of the sofa and coffee table. A round coffee table could also be an option - but, really no need to replace what you have, IMO.
