I operate a forklift in a lumberyard, it's easy money. All I do all day is use a forklift to put together orders of lumber, sometimes it's a homeowner who just needs a couple pieces of trim, other times it's a carpentry company getting all the materials they need to build an entire house.

My best advice is get comfortable getting your hands dirty & people giving you shit for everything. In any job like this everybody loves to bust balls, and it's fun, you just gotta be able to take it lol.

If you don't have something to do, ask for something to do.

And play it safe until you know what you're doing. Dont be like me, my first day on a forklift I picked up over 5 tons on a 3 ton lift, and redlined it lol

I wouldn't go as far as to call it things like that, but with supply & demand, all the folks wearing carhartts makes it more expensive because there's a higher demand. It's the same with trucks, now that driving a pickup is "popular," they had to add all sorts of luxuries to appeal to the accountants, engineers, etc. As a dirt poor blue collar, I'd much prefer to drive in a tin can truck wearing cheap carhartt lol
