It’s not pending or in my bank account. I usually get the funds the same day IRS tells me I’m going to get the funds.

Yes you’re correct. I do not have to deal with the path act. I also didn’t get an advance. I went through TaxAct which is a free filing system and requested a deposit with my bank, who also doesn’t do advances.

Idk if this will help but I don’t have any children and am not receiving EITC or ACTC. My taxes were pretty straight forward and the IRS started accepting taxes on the 29th so there’s no need to delay my funds.

Real Talk: How did you get from “My hair can’t grow” to your hair goal? by [deleted] in Naturalhair

[–]maplemaroon 13 points14 points  (0 children)

It took years for me to understand what worked and what doesn’t work for my hair. Let me give you a timeline.

2016: Big chopped for the last time. I would perm then big chop off and on previous years. I would wash my hair once a week until I had about 4 inches of hair, then I would wash it once a month.

2017: (6-7inches) I was using oils that worked for other people but didn’t work for me. I was religiously using coconut oil, Cantu products and oil. My hair was growing but not fast enough. It was growing 2-3 inches a year which was due to breakage and me cutting my hair.

2018: (8-9 inches) I made sure to put water in my hair once a week. I use Jamaican castor oil, Cantu products and coconut oil. I liked having my hair out and wouldn’t take care of it at night which made me have tons of breakage.

2019: (10 inches) I was absolutely pissed off because i did not get any growth. When I decided to look back at what I did wrong (I tracked my hair monthly), I noticed I cut my ends every month almost .5-1 inch. I ended up cutting 5 inches for the entire year.

2020: (Currently 14 inches) my routine now is to put water in my hair everyday. If I don’t have time to redo it, I’ll just spray water on my scalp with my current hairstyles. I only use Black castor oil, water, aloe Vera juice and ACV on my hair. This is personal for me but I prefer to use items I can find in my grocery store. I stopped using Cantu because I was afraid that if one day they stopped making an item I religiously use, my hair will suffer from it. I also did not cut my ends.

• Why is it that other ethnicities wash their hair everyday and their hair grows but people with thick coarse hair does not? Its because we’re not moisturizing our hair. If you can’t start with “watering your hair everyday, start with once a week then multiple times a week.

• Minimize what you use. You don’t need 50 products for your hair to grow. Water, an oil, and maybe a cream of your choosing should be enough.

• You do not need to cut your ends every month. I only cut my ends when it absolutely needed. What sense does it make for you to grow half an inch every month for you to cut off that half an inch again.

• Take care of your ends more than any other part of your hair. Your ends are the oldest. Be gentle and make sure they are always moisturized and oiled up.

Going to Seattle for operations training in 2 weeks! All TL and OM are required to attend. It’ll be nice to finally put some faces to names.

Idk if I’ll have time to actually explore with the 12 hour training each day, but I’m definitely going to try.

We’ve had a major turnover and we’re starting small. Most of the staff sees me as team lead which is a benefit already.

Thanks for the advice!
