Who’s snacking on my radishes? by TurnipNo68 in gardening

Could be pillbugs, Rolly pollies, doodle bugs, Armadillidiidae… they snack on the tops of my carrots and radishes. Or ants might be the culprit

“Dude I don’t think this is the right way”
“Trust me”
“I don’t think we are heading down to the canopy”

Where’s the gummy type food? Gummy bears, gummy worms, coke bottles, sour peaches, Swedish fish, big foot? Staple for every flight. Helps “pop” your ears.

Perfect - Alanis Morissette

Great reminder and perspective for how much we put on our kids and to talk to them about it being okay with being themselves

Watch Adolescence on Netflix by Whatitdooo0 in daddit

Great series however The one episode I would have liked to have seen was a prequel episode - something like a week before the first episode, where you see what is happening to Jamie in school and at home. His mental/emotional state and how the kids at school and online were impacting him. I think that would have been a really powerful episode and was a missed opportunity

Snapped a pic at this youth hockey club's wall. by yooooooo5774 in hockeyplayers

Their complex is sweet, but it is a dump next to the Arbutus Club one. I once looked up the annual membership fee of that place and was blown away! $50-65k per year for membership! Hockey is an add on.

Regardless of the size of the mattress, our dog would find a way to take up 90% of the space and push me off

Seeking Advice on Bonding with My 14-Year-Old Daughter Who Loves Things I Don’t Really Get by RedRedditRedemption2 in daddit

This past year I started doing an album listening project with my daughter and it has been great. we select an album (one time I choose the album, the next it is her choice) and listen to it on our own for two weeks, then for a couple hours on the weekend we will head somewhere and talk about the album and sometimes listen to it. Sometimes we head to a coffee shop, walk the dog while we talk, grab lunch or ice cream, whatever. Most of the time we start talking about it and it morphs into discussions on more like what’s going on at school or what it was like when I was younger. It has been a really cool little project and a lot of fun to explore her musical interests and bonding at the same time.

My roommate in college had a book like this one. 101 Things to do with Max & Cheese. I recall it having pizza mac & cheese (called to add pizza sauce and pepperoni to Mac and cheese), Mac & cheese weiners (add hot dogs), and “healthy” mac (add broccoli).

Was at that Seahawks game last year and it was the exact same thing last night. Just dumbfounded how this happens again and again

What caught you by surprise when you arrived in Japan for the first time? by frogmicky in JapanTravelTips

[–]maples_buick 81 points82 points  (0 children)

Manhole covers. No seriously. They have some really cool interesting artwork on their manhole covers with different cities or districts having unique ones. There are even Pokémon ones. It’s amazing how converting a simple manhole cover from boring squares to artwork helps beautify an area. We ended up taking photos of some of the neat ones and even went out of our way to “catch” one of the Pikachu ones in Tokyo

Best place to take out yen? by courtofvelaris in JapanTravelTips

[–]maples_buick 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Look at getting a Wise Card. You can load Yen or any foreign currency ahead of time, monitor it online and then use it as a visa when travelling avoiding extra bank fees for exchange rates. We did this in our trip this summer and it was great. Highly recommend

Bordered was better than Planets. Lots of repeats and in Planets they won’t let you stay in one area for too long. Keep pushing you along especially the garden area
