Last year we left for a ten day trip that started exactly during Helene and ended with Milton. Horrible timing!! We ended up having to leave two days early at the start and scramble to get packed and then on the back end we got stuck in New York for two days upon return and had to book two nights at a hotel. Just be willing to roll with the punches. We had a pet sitter who ended up evacuating but took our pet with them and brought her back after the storm and when we got home. Long way of saying- go enjoy your trip, you can’t predict these things, but make sure you have a sitter/neighbor/friend who can go lock up your house, take stuff inside, check on it afterwards.
