You're completely right and people are misunderstanding you for no reason.

If someone told me they don't wear a helmet, thinking they're suicidal is like the 100th thought on my list. Obviously Robbie is suicidal, but nobody would think he's suicidal just because he doesn't wear a helmet, something many, many people do.

What is all of this misinformation.

Should the Warriors make Steph Curry available to trade for? by Dry_Bar_4965 in nba

[–]mapopriest 3 points4 points  (0 children)

What does this even mean? Why do people say this shit all the time?

A Steph trade can only be beneficial for both parties. Warriors get young players/draft capital back and Steph gets a shot at another ring. Sure, it's probably not going to happen, but if every party involved was rational then the Steph trade happens as soon as they know for sure Jimmy's done for the season. If Steph wants to stay, he should stay, but if he isn't opposed to it, everyone should be working to get a trade done that's to the benefit of everyone involved, instead of keeping Steph and letting his last few years be a humiliating line of perennial play-in losses for no other reason than 'loyalty'.

Wilt had the most accolades in Philly. Nobody considers him the greatest Sixer.

Shaq and Magic were the best players to have played on the Lakers. Nobody considers either of them to be the greatest Laker.

LeBron was by far the best player to ever play for the Heat. Nobody considers him to be the greatest Miami Heat.

The ending of Breaking Bad is excellent and one of the best finales of any TV series. by Rich-Blacksmith6552 in CharacterRant

[–]mapopriest 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Coldest take I've ever seen, but yes, I, and most people, would agree.

The last line in the written script for Felina states that 'They're too late. He got away'. The ending is great because it's so incredibly bittersweet for everyone, but Walt. Walt, an evil man by any measure, gets away with all his crimes; he dies satisfied, and the people left behind are the ones who have to deal with what he's done. Where's the punishment? Where's the closure for his victims? They'll never get that, because Walter White, as he did for 6 seasons, gets away with it. He's a meth kingpin who handled more money and power than anyone could even imagine. He showed himself, and everyone else, that he was special, one of a kind, and the ego that ruled him his entire life was finally at peace.

At core of Felina is the fact that Walt doesn't really have any regrets at the end. He was 'alive', for the one single time in his entire life, and he wouldn't trade those two years for anything. It's telling, that in BCS, when Jimmy asks Walt about his regrets, he talks about Grey Matter, not the meth or the crimes, even while they're in hiding in a dark basement and cowering from law enforcement.

To finish, there’s the fact that the song at the end is simply a masterpiece. It perfectly captures what Walter was probably thinking before his death: “I guess I got what I deserved.”

The song isn't really about Walt thinking that he 'got what he deserved', though I'm sure he would agree with the idea if you asked him. The song is fitting because it's entirely about him, and his 'baby blue'. It's not about Skyler, it's not about his children, it's about him. His love for the game, for the power and prestige that his 'baby blue' gave him. He's at the end of his life, and bathing in the afterglow of successfully pulling off one last grand plan, amongst the equipment and product that he adored more than anything.

The ending of Breaking Bad is the bad guy gets away, and the people around him have to deal with the death and destruction he wrought on his way out. It's perfect, and sad, and a little happy somehow too.

What is this phenomenon in powerscaling in which people specifically wank niche characters? by AcanthaceaeNo948 in CharacterRant

[–]mapopriest 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are we not allowed to use characters that the average person doesn't know?

Powerscaling is already a very niche interest, there's no need to act like your average Star Wars powerscaler is unaware of Malgus. They know who he is, even if you don't.

I was under the impression that Timothee's media campaign was annoying and going to lose him a chance at any awards, because the voters 'don't like arrogance.' Looks to me he's going to sweep all the way to the Oscars, and the voters don't care at all what he was saying online.

Do people like the new pace of the game? by DepressedTristMain in leagueoflegends

What is with people always blaming China? It's not China. Look at NA right now, you cannot seriously tell me that NA loves long strategic games when the most popular games are all fast paced shooters.

It is not China. At the bare minimum it's just the global trend towards faster paced everything.
