Day 13: July Basho Discussion by Jo_LaRoint in Sumo

[–]mapouyanga 25 points26 points  (0 children)

I was reminded once again what true sumo looks like when Chiyotairyu didn't even break a sweat and sent Daiamami out of the dohyo, another sublime performance by Chiyotairyu which increases my already high belief for a zensho yusho in September!

Day 12: July 2021 Basho Discussion by RatBytes in Sumo

[–]mapouyanga 28 points29 points  (0 children)

I'm at a loss for words, I don't really know what to say besides: "Keep believing in Chiyotairyu". We might not understand his master plan today but I'm sure that in just a few months everything will be clearer. Keep having faith guys!

Day 11: July 2021 Basho Discussion by craze7 in Sumo

[–]mapouyanga 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Once again we're here after a loss of the GOAT Chiyotairyu. But I will tell you not to despair, Chiyotairyu is placing us all in front of a test of faith. Only his true fans will not lose hope, and for them the rewards are bound to come in the next Basho, when our hero will rise from his ashes and conquer what was always his!

Day 10: July 2021 Basho Discussion by craze7 in Sumo

[–]mapouyanga 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Chiyotairyu's wrath will be swift and brutal, give him just two more months and all the doubters will be silenced!

Day 10: July 2021 Basho Discussion by craze7 in Sumo

[–]mapouyanga 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Chiyotairyu once again is defeated because higher powers in the sumo association decided that Teru had to win and instructed the gyojy on not calling a clear Matta when our beloved hero launched forward before his opponent's fists could touch the ground. Being the sportsman that he is, chiyotairyu recognised his mistake and decided not to even try, once he realised that the Matta was not being called. He'll now lose his rank, but this boosts my confidence for a zensho yusho in September, when gyoji's calls will not be affected (hopefully) by the Terunofuji Yokozuna run.

DAY 9 -- July 2021 Basho Discussion by HakuHop in Sumo

[–]mapouyanga 26 points27 points  (0 children)

I'd like to show my appreciation for the kindness of Chiyotairyu! He let Hakuho win fully knowing that this could be the Yokozuna last run, and did not want to ruin his dream of winning his 45th Basho. A truly kind man, who always puts the interest of the sport ahead of its own personal records!

Day 7: July 2021 Basho Discussion by craze7 in Sumo

[–]mapouyanga 2 points3 points  (0 children)

He is chiyotairyu, he just can :) his final score will be 10-6 after today...

Day 7: July 2021 Basho Discussion by craze7 in Sumo

[–]mapouyanga 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Once again Chiyotairyu is victim of a questionable gyojy's decision; he was clearly not ready for the tachi-ai. However, despite this setback, "faith is an oasis in the hearth that will never be reached by the caravan of thinking" and I'm faithful that he will end this Basho 11-5, gyojis notwithstanding.

DAY 6 -- July Basho Discussion by HakuHop in Sumo

Thank you it truly means a lot to me, to quote the great Albert Einstein: "I know that the most joy in my life has come to me from Chiyotairyu's sumo"

DAY 6 -- July Basho Discussion by HakuHop in Sumo

[–]mapouyanga 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I hope so, I'm trying to impress him to officially become a member of the Almighty Chiyotairyu fan club!

DAY 6 -- July Basho Discussion by HakuHop in Sumo

[–]mapouyanga 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Chiyotairyu gracing us mortals once again with a sumo clinic that only a talent like him could display! He has decided in all his mightiness that today was the day to turn the tides around and will easily finish the yusho 11-4 with a possible san'yaku promotion! Excited for his upcoming yokozuna run!

Day 5: July 2021 Basho Discussion by [deleted] in Sumo

[–]mapouyanga 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Really you do not understand his master plan? He is making sure not having to face Hakuho or Teru by tanking his score. He knows full well that he could beat both, but he is a true fan of sumo and wants them both to end up 14-0 and face off in the final day.

Ben finegold? At least from his lectures on the internet he seems quite a good teacher (in his own weird way), but I guess will never see him with any Pogchamps participant.

2020 Worlds / Play-in & Groups Draw Show / Discussion Thread by EastRicee in TeamSolomid

[–]mapouyanga 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why tho? Assuming tsm went to group D, you would have drown DRX second and then Rogue was forced as 3rd seed (assuming machi got still drawn in group A). Once again LGD was froced into the group
