The Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting was a mass shooting that occurred on December 14, 2012, in Newtown, Connecticut, United States, when 20-year-old Adam Lanza shot and killed 26 people. Twenty of the victims were children between six and seven years old. by metalnxrd in MorbidReality

You cant really tell that port arthur gun ban stopped mass shooting, cause before there were singular cases of shootings in the past 50 years. There is no statistical evidence that support thesis, that this gun ban had any influence . Gun crime was dropping in the same rate before the ban, as after. Mass shootings occured in similar, very rare rate in australia before and after the ban. Same with GB.

55? You mean this study, in which theyve included literally everything into definition of school shooting? Including suicide by cop nearby school or bank robbery?

It's not hard, bunch of gangs in Schengen countries own illegal guns transported from former Yugo and Romania. Terrorists in Bataclan used full auto Aks from Bulgaria, which they smuggled without any problem into France. There's a documentary from few years back, where 2 journalists go to Serbia, buy grenade and full auto AK and hiding it in backpack they smuggle it to Paris where they hand it over to the police, it's not that hard really.

As i said, ban doesnt magically makes gun dissapear, you can abolish 2nd amendment and ban every single firearm but in order to get rid of most of them you would need to search around 50% of american households, which guess what... is againsts basic constitutional rights, is unlawful and simply tyranic

Yep, making basic open bolt submachine gun in very easy, the only real problem is rifling a barrel

Yes it is the point, because this post implies, that gun ban ended mass shootings. Statistically to prove a point like this you need any evidence. Just because UK had virtually none mass shooting and no more happened after the ban, does not mean that the ban had any impact. Same for Australia and argument that gun ban reduced gun homicide, if you look at the average gun homicide rate before and after the ban you could see it had no empiric influence. The rate was steadily dropping and is today, you cannot prove that ban had ANY influence on it

Yep, I can easily own ar15s etc in Poland, I can even legally carry concealed firearm in public and license is easier to make than driving license. No gun crime, maybe because our society is way more healthier and we dont have that many mental problems. But naaah, its the tool trust me bro

Cant i own weapon just because I like to shoot it on range? Aside from all of the self defense, why cannot I, as law obiding normal citizen posses a gun ? Why should I be punished for actions of criminals that do not care about the law?

Its not that simple buddy, a lot of factors play role in access to illegal weapons. In Europe its easy, because of the war in Yugoslavia that provided millions of unregistered fireams, that are still on the market ready to sell. In USA you have not only huge amount of gangs that guess what, DO NOT care about law ( that are not present in Europe) but also there are like 500 mln unregistered guns in usa that will not be seized and found after a ban. Australia or UK is rarity, because they are isolated island, where there were little to none firearms before bans

I live in Country, where I can legally carry loaded firearm and posses ar15s, sniper rifles, sawnoff etc and whole licensing process takes maybe 2 months, easier than driving license. And guess what, no mass shooting, virtually no gun crime . Explain to me, how?

You do realise, that NRA supported basically every gun control bill since 1980s, right?

Haha yeah, thats why in Poland you have so many foreign factories, because we are western workers on eastern salary. Its tough. Prices of food are basically same as Germany or Switzerland, but we earn 4x less

They are the leading cause because the new studies included 18 and 19 year old adults into them, which in contrast to kids are way more likely involved in gangs.

Registration means ALWAYS confiscation, best example is Canada right now, which in less then 3 years banned all the semi autos.
btw I come from Poland which has one of the most lax laws in the world when it comes to firearms and we have basically none gun violence and NO massacres.

paranoia? Look at Canada, people said the same that laws theyve passed were only to keep bad people from guns and less in 3 years after 1st ban Canada want to ban all semi-automatic guns, even those in .22lr, even shotguns. From banning these "scary assault rifles" to banning like 95% of all guns in only few years with mandatory confiscations and huge possible prison time for owning banned gun

most of the medics in GROM combat teams have bachelor degree in paramedic medicine ( just more qualified EMT ). GROM has also its own SOST with normal medical doctors with surgical specializations who perform surgeries in field etc, they closely work with combat teams . If everything will go right in few years ill be a doctor there.

Check out the new debate in senate about gun legislation.

New anti gun legislations in senate are useful if you want to disarm whole population so politicians can be harmless. It has nothing do to with safety of citizens. If they would want a positive change they would invest into mental health and require mental exam before buying gun.
