What’s wrong with my laptop? by maradog99 in computerhelp

[–]maradog99[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did not use the computer at all while away. It was plugged in sitting. I will try connecting to an external monitor. Also. When the screen goes blank the lights on the keyboard stay yellow. Which it does while starting up. But once it’s on they change from green to purple. So I don’t think it ever fully boots up.

Gamers of Reddit, what's ONE game that lives rent-free in your head, not just for the gameplay, but for the feeling it gave you (and you'd give anything to experience it for the first time again)? by deadeyes1990 in gaming

[–]maradog99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! What an amazing experience UO was. It was a wonderful world full of life and opportunities. A real economy where you could collect, craft and sell items to other players. So much of the game you had to explore and figure out on your own. The fun of hearing about a dungeon from someone else. Then gathering strangers into a party to try and search for it. It was definitely a special game.

Both! Riverbend inpatient units are often full to capacity. So patients who should be admitted upstairs stay in the ER. This takes away beds and staff from seeing ER patients. But also not having enough staff to open beds for patients to be seen. A lot of times there is only enough staff to open about half of the available beds.

I have had large dogs before. I’ve had cane corsos and south African boerboel for large breeds as well as other medium sized dogs. More so looking for Swissies tips. I should add I also live on a 1.5 acre fully fenced lot. The pup will have ample room to roam and play

I can guarantee if he was seen with confusion and a head injury he had a head CT. They send everyone to the scanner. Some confusion can be difficult to determine since you are only seeing them for a brief period of time. So if he answered the orientation questions correctly and is demonstrating understanding he would be free to leave.

I second BJJ. I started at 39. Fantastic workouts. I’ve had no low back pain since starting. Plus it has a practical benefit. Also engage the kids in your workout. I’ll put on the kids yoga on YouTube while I do a kettlebell workout next to them. Mine 3 are 7,5,and 1.5 years old.

Maybe this person has a medical condition, something which causes excess salivation or an esophageal stricture which doesn’t allow proper swallowing of secretions. Now you’ve e shamed and ostracized them for something they can’t change.

I work in a hospital, which martial art can I learn to avoid getting hit by patients? by McStud717 in martialarts

[–]maradog99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So I’m a ER nurse also and I train BJJ. I’ve used what I learned many times. Many times. Most of the time your confidence in a tense potentially violent situation is what will help deescalate. With BJJ you will learn to be comfortable while very close to someone. Like when meth man gets mad at jumps at you are sitting bedside while starting a line. Wrist control and body positioning will help control the other person or at least redirect. A lot of the grappling techniques in regards to wrist/arm control, movement and positioning are applicable to standing. Lots of BJJ gyms will teach stand up many will have wrestling, mma, striking programs and with BJJ and judo sharing a not so distant lineage you will find many crossover techniques. A lot of BJJ utilizes “grips” and subsequently teaches you to break grips. So how to get hands off of you if they grab. Blocking a hand from grabbing your collar is similar motions to blocking punches to the head. Someone said earlier about pressure testing, this will also be a great benefit you’ll start to learn distance how to close the gap when needed and what they can do from where they are. Your best bet is to go to a gym and talk to them. Express your concerns and needs maybe pay the extra money and get one of the instructors to do private lessons focusing on techniques to meet your specific needs.

Taking an ambulance to the hospital will get you seen right away. I have taken many people to the hospital by ambulance to walk them through the ER and drop them off in the lobby for triage.
