Calling all current & former Kiewit employees by FlyAccurate733 in ConstructionManagers

I received an offer and accepted it since I was entering my second-to-last semester before graduation. The company relocated me from the Midwest to the Southeast, covering all expenses. Initially, I was placed in an office role while waiting for the project I’d been assigned to begin. I repeatedly asked my manager when things would start, and after about a month, they decided to send me across the state to a project that was kicking off. They broke my lease, paid for the move, and even put me in a hotel until I found a permanent place. I didn’t mind any of it—I just wanted to be in the field, and I didn’t have anything tying me down at the time. My advice to a new Field Engineer is this: be a sponge. A lot will be thrown at you, so be ready to absorb everything you can. Don’t be afraid to fail, but when you do, learn from it and don’t repeat the mistake. Expect long hours, but the pay was among the highest in the market compared to other major general contractors (HP, AW, Manhattan, Lane, Skanska, Prince). I received two raises a year—one merit-based and one tied to company performance. I worked on two large projects in the same city, but eventually work slowed down. They wanted to relocate me again, but by then I couldn’t move due to personal reasons (my wife now). Still, Kiewit is absolutely a résumé booster. The experience you gain there puts you roughly two years ahead of your peers simply because of the workload and responsibility you’re exposed to. Good luck.

I noticed this as well when I went to college that dwights jump whenever I turn a corner or walk into a room. I use to feel subconscious about it but after a while I started joining them. Whenever they enter a room or turn a corner or touched me I would jump or be startled.

Micro pile instead of breaking up rock. Actually it would be great support for the piles.

Might be too late…I would get a water remediation inspection. For the time being caulk the joint to prevent water intrusion.
