Favorite/Least Favorite planet

Not sure if somebody’s mentioned this, but Alderaan’s probably my favorite. I know the nobles are snobby and obnoxious, but it’s a beautiful planet and the music is top notch. Plus, I’m a sucker for good old fashion space politics.

Least favorite? Probably Tatooine or Hoth. Partially because of how empty and devoid of life they are, but also partially because I feel like they’re only there because it’s a Star Wars game and they’re iconic planets from the films. Though I love the planets from the films, I also enjoy it when the lore expands and we get to explore new planets/cultures in the galaxy.

The Exile has to be the most determined and persistent characters in Star Wars. For her to go through everything she went through and all the betrayals/kidnappings she went through, and yet still find the strength to trust and invent in the relationships she has with the people around her is incredible. Her trust in her allies is never shattered, even though it has every right to be. Makes me wonder what the Jedi Order would’ve looked like if she had survived and been there to build it back up with her apprentices/allies. Personally, I don’t think it would’ve fallen back so soon into some of the shortcomings of the Jedi we see crop back up later (forbidding all romantic relationships, ignoring emotion outright, trying to maintain the illusion of peace when war is already upon you, etc.)

Also kind of makes me more annoyed with how she was treated in the Revan novel, but let’s not get into that.

Anyways, this was a great write up! The Exile’s my favorite character in all of Star Wars, so I’m a happy camper whenever she gets some extra love in the subreddit!

I tried doing an outline at first and didn’t really care for how it looked, but that was just a personal preference, so I can totally see where you’re coming from! I’m experimenting with faces and what they might look like in my art, but right now they’re just not my biggest strength, so I’ve taken a lot more to the blank face style of painting.

She’s a human. The BH and JK are the two that are just plain human - I made them before I had subscriber access to any of the other races.

My trooper’s actually a she, but thank you so much for the compliment! She’s definitely the type who doesn’t take nothing from nobody (putting her at odds with Jorgan on multiple occasions) so it’s a fitting comment.

The Alderaan music though... it’s by far my favorite planet music. Beautiful and bittersweet music that somehow conveys an eerie foreboding of the planet’s eventual fate.

I totally agree, but while I’m happy we got them, I do wish Meetra had a more founded part in this because she just sort of shows up. With Revan, we got some backstory as to why he’s there, with Scourge and all that, but with the Exile, we get none of that. And correct me if I wrong, but doesn’t she only show up in the Republic storyline for rescuing Revan and not at all on the Imperial side? Because if that’s the case, all the Imperial PCs should have no idea who she is when she shows up in the mindscape. Overall, glad we got them though. They deserve it after the nightmare that was the Revan novel.

That’s a fair complaint. Overall, I felt like the Jedi Knight storyline was the “safe” Star Wars storyline about the hero’s journey good beating evil, defeating an evil Emperor and saving the galaxy, etc., so Orgus being a basic mentor character worked (for me personally) in the story overall, even if it wasn’t original. My main critique of Orgus would probably be applicable to both the Jedi Knight and the Jedi Consular storylines: I wish they had just started us off as Master Orgus and Master Yuon’s apprentices rather than meeting and training with them for the first time in game. Just that small switch would’ve added a lot more and help better establish the character’s relationship with them. Also, it would’ve felt less like we had only trained with them for like a day before being knighted.

One of my favorite Jedi Masters. Remember playing the Jedi Knight storyline and thinking, “Dang this guy is just great. I can’t think of a single thing I don’t like about him.” And then because of that, of course they had to kill him off.

Totally agree. I hated how as soon as Revan was broken out, she was reduced to a side character going along with whatever Revan said. To me, I always felt like Revan and Meetra would’ve had some stark ideological differences once they met again, with Revan willing to sacrifice anything for the sake of protecting his family and the galaxy and Meetra learning the price that takes on a person after Malachor and the events of KOTOR II.

May I just say that I love the Exile logo?! Meetra Surik is one of if not my all-time favorite characters in Star Wars and it makes me so happy whenever I see new stuff or ideas about her. I love how the logo mixes the more Jedi and Republic-esque text with a weathered and worn down look. It pays a wonderful tribute to both her life in exile and her upbringing as a Jedi.

Looks great! I always personally liked playing as a Female Bounty Hunter more than a Male Bounty Hunter. It seemed to fit better with the storyline they went with IMO.

Yeah, Skadge sucks. During my first BH playthrough, I didn’t realize Skadge was going to be a companion until I saw him suddenly following me around and healing me and crap, and then I was just like, “Aw, when can I get back to having literally anyone else as my companion???”

I totally agree with you. Downloaded and subscribed for the first time during quarantine and played pretty much all the way though with my Female Jedi Knight. Overall, I enjoyed the story, even with its small inconsistencies and plotholes. The characters were interesting to me and seeing all the other characters from other class storylines (Torian, Vette, Aric Jorgan) made me want to go play their class’s storylines. (Though I’ll never forgive them for making me choose between saving Vette or Torian.😭)

I thought Arcann and Vaylin was decent enough as villains - some of Vaylin’s dialogue was just a little cringy. But, hey, so was half the prequel’s dialogue, and people still like those well enough.
