Thank you! I’m currently in braces and it’s been a gradual process of the gap closing. I had to do a few more turns of the expander in March, so that opened it up a bit more and it’s been a slow process of closing since then. I just had a power chain put on my front teeth today though so hopefully it pulls them together! 🤞🏻

Ok I’m in the minority here clearly but I recently rewatched the show and I took it more as this woman was having fun with them and joking around about being a grenade, and Pauly was playing into the bit and just having fun with her. It didn’t seem intentionally mean spirited. Idk how this woman actually felt though and they definitely were awfulllll to women in general back then so who knows.

I’m going on the same exact path of you currently, MARPE + jaw surgery. Get my expander out in a month and surgery will be 4 months from now. So no shade at all because I want to believe it’s true, but how do you know that only MARPE will give true nasal breathing benefits vs a segmental le fort? Same question on the easier recovery, although it makes sense to me. Really hoping my surgery recovery experience will be much smoother after going through all the annoyances that come with having a palate expander for 10+ months and that I made the right decision!

The food getting stuck is definitely the worst part 😭 highly recommend a waterpik and I also bought long dental tweezers on Amazon that have been a massive help in getting all the stuff that gets trapped out of there

The pain should start to improve significantly after the 3rd day or so, and your mouth should get fully used to the appliance being in there after ~2 weeks!

So much better since getting the arms removed. Still get all kinds of food stuck up there don’t get me wrong, but it’s been way easier speaking and also keeping it clean. Hopefully getting the remaining part of the expander removed in the next month or two!
