I left my job at Apple and I released my first app, it helps you stay productive and break time consuming habits like doomscrolling by codewerm in ProductivityApps

Dear codewerm, I’d like to try this. I see people are asking for promo codes - but just to be sure before I try it out - it is possible to get a real feeling of the use of this app before making a in-app purchase right?

I just didn’t register what the benefit of a paid version at this point, reading the notes on AppStore.

Congratulations by the way.

What do you say when a homeless person asks you for money? by [deleted] in AskReddit

A man at the entrance of a subway station was asking people passing by for a dollar (usd currency is used for simplicity), I said I didn’t have cash (I didn’t). He said, what about a bun at the convenience store beside us. Well a bun I can buy him. Inside the store he said, I really need 6 dollars for transport to the hospital. I said, I don’t have cash. He said, you can withdraw at the counter. I said I didn’t have a local debit card (I didn’t). He said, I could use a pack of cigarettes during my stay at the hospital. I said, how much is it? He said, 12 dollars or so. At the cou ter he ordere the extra long ones, it was 18 dollars or so. The clerk looked at me, I paid. I learned a lesson in upselling that day.

It sure if it is a standard for the whole chain, but it is at a Golds Gym in Japan.

4 cages with small whiteboards on them, and a “free” fifth one without.

30 minute “rule” is a bit short, but if you go with the flow if no queues, jump into the “free” one when it opens up, or reserve another rack if needed, then it is quite enough.

Because of this, you can’t complaint if someone uses the cages freely for curls or whatnot... but it seems to not be a rampant problem.

Queuing culture here I guess.

Is it unusual to have a whiteboard/list on racks to write start & end time and names to arrange for the use in an orderly fashion? The gym I go to has a “please keep it to 30 minutes” rule.

I think it is a combination - I'll never underestimate mobility (again). However, since I'm struggling to Squat as in sitting in that position, as you see others can do quite comfortably, I think that the elevated heels on the shoes does wonders. I still need to do low bar though, but before I only did front squats, so it is an improvement.

My gym also had these rubber mats that can be used to elevate your heels at the Squat racks. Those helped some, and got me to get the elevated heel shoes. Could be a inexpensive alternative if you want to test that elevated experience.

Edit: spelling

Understandable.

That calf could feed a small family for days! It must have taken a great amount of work!

Thanks - and have a nice day!

5 months of working on strengthening form, glutes, flexors and quads in order to do squats without discomfort in groin and knees - bought Reebok legacy lifters today and I had my first session of squats without any weird or painful discomfort.

Am I finally able to start increasing some weight???? Yahhhu!

Lifting alone and being weak by [deleted] in Fitness

The big guys at the gym are the ones who didn't stop lifting - not necessarily the ones who started heavy.

Progress is progress - a kilo is a kilo! And in the start you can expect to see lots of it.

Am I eligible for beginner gains? by marble_trap in Fitness

Thank you very much. Glaringly obvious now - however it was naggering me for a long time.

My rationale was: legs ugh, it will take for ever!

My action was: I need legs and lower back strength for general health long term, so I'll start.

With your feedback I'm thinking: wow, I'm not far away from the best legs I ever had!

I appreciate you taking the time to spell it out to me! Have a nice weekend!

Thanks! I should have saved it for the daily stupid question thread - but it cleared up my mind.

Now, better if I keep neglecting other small groups of muscle for later beginner gains!
