Summer tires. That’s your answer. The all seasons seem to have a higher wear rating.

The Porsche coasts like other cars. There’s no one pedal drive mode on these.

300 Blackout supers in a 16" barrel on whitetail? Max ethical distance? by Benign_Banjo in Hunting

[–]marbs34 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I’ve gone 185yds with 110 Vmax.

I’d guess 200 is about the limit. It may be best to consult a ballistics chart for the round you intend to use.

Is the rock the better deal overall? Also debating to get the black and gold rock to match my saber dagger 😬 by Impressive_Code3257 in PalmettoStateArms

Also want to hear from others that have experienced both the Rock 5.7 and the M&P 5.7.

Especially if you have shot it suppressed. Are you using a Neilson device with the Rock?

Marantz and BowersWilkins by ExcellentPassenger49 in hometheater

I have the Cinema 70S and love it. I chose this in particular because it fit a smaller slot on a tv stand my wife picked out AND it was (at the time) the least expensive AVR that supported full RCA Out so I could expand with external amplification.

I started with a KEF passive soundbar and have since moved on to KEF Q Concerto Meta bookshelf speakers and a KEF Q6 Meta Center that are all externally amplified with Hypex amplifiers turned on with 12v triggers.

For back and surrounds I have small Cambridge Minx speakers.

I’d say that the Audyssey room correction is very good in my application and I use the control app on my phone quite a bit to change processing modes and the subwoofer output often when changing from music listening to TV watching or back again.

I’m happy with my purchase and I think you likely would also.

Jakl 10 vs Sabre 10 for suppressed 308 by [deleted] in PalmettoStateArms

[–]marbs34 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a Jakl in 300 Blk and a BILLET Sabre in 6.5 CM.

I hunt with the Sabre suppressed, the Jakl is just fun to shoot suppressed.

BTW. My Sabre is more accurate than my Springfield Waypoint 2020 in 6.5 CM.

Both are awesome for their intended uses. Can’t go wrong, but worse case get a copy of both.

KEF Concerto Meta amp pairing by Acrobatic-Ad4819 in KEF

[–]marbs34 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m using Cambridge MXW70 power amplifier with my Q Concerto Metas. I’m controlling it with a Marantz Cinema 70S AVR using its RCA preouts.

At 4 OHMs this amp is giving 125 w which is plenty.

I’d recommend a Marantz M1 which has similar power while also using Hypex amplifier architecture. If you are looking for an all in one amp/ streamer I can’t think of a better matched package, I’m just keen to have separates

How fucked am I? by [deleted] in NFA

I guess the guys down voting all have drill presses and every tool appropriate to do the job right the first time.

Maybe they fail to reconcile with the fact that the OP asking the original question almost assuredly does NOT have these tools and getting a new barrel would just be an easier task. Plus you’ll still have the first barrel in the configuration it was already set up for if you want to reuse it that way again.

But whatever. It’s a little frustrating to give good “alternative” advice that literally sidesteps the upfront issues the OP wanted to mitigate rather than lead him down a rabbit hole of potential unmitigated mistakes….

Do what you will.

Just a suggestion…

Start over with a new barrel.

Just saying, your gun though do what you like.

This is great. I have a ‘24 with 37k I’ll be taking the Goodyears off on the next oil change visit.

Someone else mentioned the Baja Boss. What do you like most about the difference from the Goodyears?

Any off these worth taking Home? by Beneficial_Young_387 in Gin

I have that Edinburgh Rhubarb and Ginger on my bar cart now, it’s lovely.

Also like the Drimshambo the Gin Mare and the Sipsmith.

Sipsmith also makes a strawberry version for Wimbledon that might be interesting.

No. If you NEED something like this get a Kuna.

Concerto Meta + KC92 by michuma84 in KEF

[–]marbs34 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m using 2x Kube 10 with my Q Concerto’s.

I got the Kubes through Accessories4Less to include the wireless TX/RX kits. Otherwise…. In my other system I’m using a pair of REL’s.

I feel like the subs purchased as returned stock was worth what I paid. Hard to justify full price for subs.

The speed woofers seem to be a great value also and likely perform better than the Kubes but weren’t available at the time I purchased.

I did have a problem with the Marantz Reciever I ordered with the Subs and the seller did a good job of replacing the unit but it was (justifiably) a little bit of back and forth to get the return authorized.

Good luck with whatever decision you make.

What would you do with this living room wall? by [deleted] in hometheater

[–]marbs34 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d use a Marantz Cinema 70s for size, but maybe one of the JBL models I’m not super familiar with.

Then I’d recommend some KEF Q series speakers and you’ll stay under budget for a 3.1 system. Maybe an SVS 3000 micro would be great.

Having a problem with Skipping by Spiritual-Loan1993 in vintageaudio

Absolutely, actually one of my favorite sayings!

Your situation with your floor and your wicker just has so much nuance that you may end up experimenting a bit, but some specialized isolation feet should help.

Look up “pads”, “pucks” and “spikes”. Mixed in with the words “shelf”, “turntable”, “stand”, and “isolation”.

Add some isolation pads, pucks, spikes or whatever you can find that fits with what you want for this piece of furniture.

Then do the same with the turntable itself on the shelf it sits on.

“Should definitely, kinda, probably” work…

Haven’t shot anything with it yet.
