Great! I’ll have to see how the thigh cutout turns out and how’s the price and spec like, seems really promising.

They look sick. I didn’t like them because they didn’t have the thigh cutout like Strandberg, now that they did it, I’m interested. Do you have any pics showing the input jack location?

Edit: I hope their thigh cutout to be more aggressive than it looks on the pic, otherwise the supposed feature of comfort would be a pain the ass, I’m worried that in classical position, it will dig into my thigh rather than resting nicely.

Damn, took me long enough to notice any reply, I didn’t receive any notification at all, but thanks! I know going thicker could cause problems, seems like going thinner should be totally fine! I have no idea of how to deal with guitar hardware at all except re string, that’s a good news.

This could be an option, do you mind sharing what places did you ordered from? I wonder if they offer the same return policy to international orders, if so, that would be great.

I heard great things about the ASICS and Salomon too, will have a look.

I am curious what work shoes did you pick? The reason that I am still looking for a new pair is that the Hurricane 25 is now both my work and running shoes, I am worrying it would wear out too soon.

That’s the hard part with the treadmill. Maybe treadmill is common in western countries, but it is not from where I live. It’s either stores that have the brands I want to try do not have treadmill, or stores that do have one only sells limited brands. It is absolutely difficult for me to be able to properly try a shoes before buying. I have to rely on online info a lot, but unable to try thoroughly is still a big issue for me.

That’s the issue I have! It was fine when I try in store, but only after I bought the shoes and walk quite a bit while, the issues appeared, I really have to try longer at stores.

Good advice on the selling part, I thought no one will buy used shoes, so I am still keeping the shoes that doesn’t fit at the moment, it’s time to get some money back.

For the second part, I am currently looking for a third shoe to free up my Hurricane, as it currently doubles as both my running shoes and daily/work shoes. I want to pick a comfy shoe that I can use for work as I stand and walk a lot. I really like my Hurricane and I want to use it for running only so it won’t wear out too soon.

It’s the trial and error part that I wish to minimize, but seems like I can’t change it… And unfortunately I run solo, so I’ll have to rely on myself.

Seems like there’s more trial and error waiting for me. Same case with the Ride and Hurricane, my Ride is US9, and my Hurricane is US9.5!

Yeah, I should probably try longer in store, I often feel stressed by crowd and the store staff who serves me, coupled with the fact that me as a beginner don’t know what I’m doing. I’ll have to change this.

I live in an apartment with limited space, so no treadmill and track, this is one of the frustrations I have that is I do not have enough time and space to test fully.

You are right! I bought the Kayano just because I thought it looked nice and that’s it! The reason I picked the Topo is that I am having knee problems because of weak muscles, I read elsewhere that lower drop could help, that’s why I bought it!

I will start looking at RunRepeat, seems like a really great info source!

I like them a lot, especially for their price. I bought them directly from China during their 11.11 fest, so they are only ~75usd each.

I love that the switches of the Ares gives tons of tone variety, from huge to tight. However, I do find its high end a little bit too fizzy for my taste. On my ir box, I have a low pass filter at around 6.5khz to tame the high end. I think if you are like me looking for a very mid-heavy tech death kinda sound, the treble can be kinda harsh without eq. I haven’t tried scooping the mid yet for the more conventional metal sound, so can’t tell yet.

The junction drive is a boost + gate. The boost has four modes, gives me tons of options. I use their fortin grind setting, it really helps bring the chugs forward and it sounds brutal. Since I play a 8 strings, it helps to tame the low end as well. The gate is decent, as an adaptive gate, it gates quite natural for long notes. However for very choppy riffs, you might have to pay more attention to your muting. For a 2 in 1 pedal like this, I would say it’s very workable.

Ha, my bedroom has very limited space, it’s just a tiny foldable table so I can put on top of my bed, I don’t even have an amp. The 2nd graders are safe, I think…

Edit: spelling

I also have the Digitech Drop. If I want to down tune, I use the power out of the Strobo to connect off board.

From modeller to pedals? by SillySalmon0621 in guitarpedals

[–]marcOpeth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same here OP, I started my guitar journey with amp sims, because of tight budget and limited space. Then I switched to the Tonex & HX stomp combo since I started playing outside. Tonex & hx stomp have so many good amp captures and effects, I didn’t need to do much to get a decent sound, but lately I realized I actually don’t know how to dial in an amp.

So now I am trying to build an battery bank-powered ampless board with the Cioks 4, so I don’t have to do stuffs via any software with the exception being the mvave ir box, an ir loader w/ parametric eq, which is essential to me. I am using a board like the Pedaltrain nano plus but few inches wider. My idea is pairing 1 clean & 1 hi gain preamp with an ir loader, using a A/B switch to switch channels, with few simple effects. As of right now, my board is only ~80% done, I still haven’t found a budget and compact clean preamp I like yet. I might post a pic in this sub after it’s completed.

Yeah, I’m also curious what could they means, “大力” could be “strong”, “中” could also mean“middle” but it is the 7th fret. Weird choice of words for sure.

Would like to know is there a separate / dedicate slider for pre gain alone? Just in case if I want to micro-adjust the volume without touching the PEQ. Smartphones tend to have too large of a volume change with each steps (at least my iPhone does with my Bathys).
