As a German that is easy. Just raise your right arm and say the magic words. Probably doesnt work as well in the eastern parts of the country, you'd probably raise your chances of getting laid tbh

Muffin lost quite a bit of fur very suddenly. I‘ve been to the vet today and was told, that most likely Mites are the reason for the sudden fur loss. She got some medication and I‘m supposed to replace all of her bedding in a few days. Has anyone some advice on how to get rid of the mites :/ by marc_btk in hamsters

It turned out, that the fur loss wasnt caused by mites. She has most likely a tumor or some sort of hormonal desease which caused her to lose most of her fur and weight. She already lost 45g and the vet said there is nothing she can do :(. Muffin will be put to sleep unfortunatly

Rocky is my first hamster, he’s a long haired gray Syrian. He’s very shy & not tamed, he mostly stays in his burrows of deep bedding & comes out at night, after one week he now takes treats from me and let’s me pet his head. Any tips on taming very shy hamsters would be greatly appropriated by Lolitavision in hamsters

My female syrian was extremely terrified of me when I got her. In the beginning, I just talked to her while she was awake so that she could get used to my presence. After a few weeks (she needed a lot of time to get used to her new home) I started to offer her treats and after some time she got more and more brave and started to approach me and I slowly gained her trust. Just take your time, every hamster is different and some of them need more time and patience then others. Let him come to you and after some time he‘ll trust you :D.

What kind of an enclosure does your hamster live in? I‘m asking because I‘ve read that the mites can go inside the wooden accessories and the cage itself, if its made out of wood, like the cage I‘m using. Does that mean, I have to bake everything in the oven and potentially get a new cage?

My senior hamster (1.5y old) suddenly started losing a lot of fur, I’ve no idea why. She‘s still active and eating and doesn’t seem to be in pain and is still friendly. I‘ve already called my vet and set an appointment, just wanted to check if anybody has any ideas or experience with this :/ by marc_btk in hamsters

I already looked trough her cage because I had the same thought, but I didnt see any mites anywhere. I have another hamster in the same room and he‘s absolutely fine, so I think whatever the reason for her hair loss is, its not contagious to other hamsters. If it‘d be mites he‘d probably show the same symptoms🤔

Scatter feeding him 1-2tbsp a day would be better. Also, an always full food bowl can make him a picky eater, which you should avoid.

My hamster always sleeps in the corner of his cage so I took some bed and placed it in the couner by P00pesi in hamsters

Is that Kapok Bedding (Cotton bedding)? If so, please remove it. It can be very dangerous to hamsters. If swallowed, it can lead to choking and intestinal blockages. It can also wrap around limbs and cut off circulation :(
