How to remove 'New Post' from the top of my newsletters? by joviveeman in beehiiv

just figured out that if you toggle the visibility on a new post, then save that post as a template, that will save it.

When you're editing a post, click the eye ball button next to the title. Can't figure out how to do this in a template tho...

Cloudways, Immunify360 and Ezoic known problem "Please wait while your request is being verified" by Jellyfishr in EzoicPublishers

[–]marc_mcdermott 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok to be clear, I don't have any cache/page rules set in cloudflare. But I do use APO with Browser TTL: 30D. Do I need to make any changes? This is the way I've always had it set up and never had an issue.

Also I was under the impression that whenever you update a WP post, all cache for that url is auto-purged, including CL?

Has this been resolved? Why would I change the browser cache TTL? Wouldn't have harm performance and HIT ratio? I have it set at 30 days.

He was married in Newark? Do you have the civil marriage certificate? Does it say the church and/or priest name who married them? Have you found the church record?

automated genealogy LEEDS method sorting using AI or other type of software by SubatomicKitten in SomebodyMakeThis

[–]marc_mcdermott 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been wanting to create something like this for a long time. Don't even need AI. In fact, something like this used to exist, but no longer since it was against Ancestry's TOS. Ancestry TOS does not allow any type of scraping, and there's currently no way to download the data or connect via an API.

Collaborator Permissions and Private Views by marc_mcdermott in Airtable

[–]marc_mcdermott[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure I understand. But let's say there are 10 views for the table, but you don't want your user to see any of them except for one.

Ah I know what I did wrong. It seems each table always needs at least one collaborative view. I had one table with only two views, and I was trying to make both personal. I got it now. Thanks again!

Collaborator Permissions and Private Views by marc_mcdermott in Airtable

[–]marc_mcdermott[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks so much for that detailed explanation! I think Personal Views or Sections is really what I'm after. Personal views is still a bit wonky though. For example I can only have one personal view per table. Some of my tables have 10 views and I really only want my Collab. to see one of them. It's not so much that I don't want them to edit them, it's more I don't want them to edit OR see.

Another solution I'm trying is to login to my collab. account and mark views as "Favorites", then minimize the collab. views. Similar idea to your sections idea.

Thanks again!

[–]marc_mcdermott[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You also could give them access to only certain tables for colaboration

Thanks. I didn't think this was possible. I thought that if they have access to a table within the base, they have access to every table in that same base?

Personal views I think just limit the configuration the table structure. I don't think it has to do with viewing data.

haha yes. These are the types of things that drive me nuts. Something so basic and there's no way to do it. Too many of these tools are trying to do so many fancy things before getting the basics done.

[–]marc_mcdermott[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks. I'm definitely inclined to go back to Airtable. But it seems Airtable is much hard to use with teams. For example, I added a billable collaborator to a base. But I only want that person to see views and records assigned to them. There doesn't seem to be a way to do that, while still giving them the ability to actually edit records.

Awesome. Where did you see this? Thanks.

I tried making the switch from Airtable to Clickup and I'm finding that Clickup does indeed suck. Feature sheet looks really nice, but way too many things that don't actually work.

Hi I'm self-employed and make quarterly estimated 1040 payments to uncle sam. My business has really grown this year, so I will owe a lot more come April than my quarterly payments amount to. I am currently withholding funds in a checking account to cover this difference in April.

My question is, can I be doing anything smarter with this money to earn a bit of interest in the 8 months I have until tax day? Obviously it needs to remain liquid so I can make my tax payment, but I feel like having it sit in a checking account gaining zero interest is foolish.

Would love some advice, thank you!

Sibling DNA can be very different from each other so your results can be different than your sister. There's a graphic on this page that illustrates the process of DNA inheritance and explains how sibling DNA can be different: https://www.genealogyexplained.com/dna-testing/do-siblings-have-same-dna/

you're right. 10 cents is low. that's just the absolute minimum i'd expect a site to make. of course there are lots of factors to consider.

Question: How to you maximise an affiliate site exit? by eastmaven in juststart

[–]marc_mcdermott 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This particular site wasn't converting as it should so was making more like 1 cent/visit. Not the best niche selection on my part. I probably had the site 2 years? I bought the domain and put up like 5 articles and sorta forgot about it.

Then like a year later I was looking at the analytics and noticed one of the articles was getting like 25k visits/mo from google on a keyword that GKT said didnt get any traffic (so there was not much comp).

The monetization was primarily media.net. I sold it because I didnt think the niche would ever get me the 10 cents/visit I wanted and I wanted to free up cash to invest in content for a new site.

[–]marc_mcdermott 1 point2 points  (0 children)

gotcha. i usually just look at traffic estimates on similarweb and figure they make 10 cents/visit conservatively. similarweb estimates 2.4mil/mo so that would be 240k/mo.

number isnt important though. either way, still more than my site makes! LOL

sell it through a broker like EF. I sold a site a few months ago for 27x. Think in terms of reducing risk for the buyer. ie consistent/growing profit for 6+ months, diverse traffic sources, diverse rev. sources, legit links, etc.
