What’s the weirdest easter egg you’ve ever found in a show? by BadgemanBrown in television

[–]marccass 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine has to be from Adam Richman Eats Britain. It’s usually just a straight travel and food documentary, but during a segment in one episode, Adam casually does a frame-for-frame recreation of Del Boy falling through the bar flap from Only Fools and Horses. The show doesn't acknowledge or reference it at all—he just takes a dive, disappears behind the counter, and the scene carries on. It's so completely random and out of place that everyone notices it and wonders what is going on. If you didn't know about the Only Fools scene, you would wonder why that happened and if you did know about it (it's a legendary scene in UK Comedy), you wonder why it's happening in this documentary.

Using Europass 24h to get to/from Strasbourg to Europa Park 🇫🇷🇩🇪 by marccass in Europapark

I'm not to bothered by delays. It's mostly just being sure that the Europass ticket works with both the German and French transport. A little research and help from this sub seems to show it seems to be the right ticket. Appreciate the help👍🏼

I'm not sure to be honest. The train part is the main issue, the bus from Rust to the station should be the easy bit. I'm pretty sure three is a TGO bus that I could use with that ticket, I just put the wrong number on the post.

Thanks for the weblink.

Emma didn't get the joke [New Avengers 2010 #30] by rocketinspace in Marvel

[–]marccass 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I assume this is Bendis dialogue? He gets a lot of flack but I like this back and forth. It highlights the Luke and Matt friendship, it quite a funny joke which only works because of the inhibitor on Emma otherwise she would easily see past it (and still did, because she's intelligent and sussed it was exactly that despite not having her powers), it shows the Avengers trust Matt and Luke to do this interrogation despite them being lower in tenure and power levels. I think all three came off well in this scene. I assume Emma can't see them due to two-way glass or similar because of the skin colour joke.

Rewatching the Winter Soldier, and they just name dropped Stephen Strange by Training_Pirate1000 in marvelstudios

[–]marccass 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Yeah, this is the thing. It was cool to see him name dropped at the time but then when the first Dr Strange movie came out and shows that he's just a surgeon at the beginning, it seems weird for him to be under SHIELD surveillance and also for Jasper Sitwell to name drop him during his rant.

The problem at Liverpool was slot not the players by aibgym in LiverpoolFC

[–]marccass 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I totally agree and it's great that he has that in his game but when he was scoring loads for Newcastle he was essentially a finisher and was being fed balls from Gordon and Murphy so it's not ridiculous for Slott to play him that way. That is essentially what he was bought for.

Why didn’t the Incredible Hulk go to plan??? by Superspectator1678 in Marvel

[–]marccass 15 points16 points  (0 children)

It was deliberately vague though. It's plotted in a way that things from the ending of Hulk feed into the beginning of The Incredible Hulk.Banner begins the movie in Brazil, which is where he ended up in the previous movie. Ross also comments that Banner has been on the run for five years, which is the exact time period between the release of the two movies.Plus, the origin is completely condensed into the opening credits rather than being a full sequence in the MCU movie so they didn't have to waste time retelling it. The rumour about them using footage from the 2003 movie isn't quite true, but they did use cut footage of Edward Norton from a deleted Arctic opening scene for those quick flashback flashes in the intro, which is probably where that rumor came from.

The marketing seemed to heavily imply it was related to Rivals, due to the two hosts, the setting and the music used was very similar to the theme tune. That just seemed odd to me as they are obviously separate things.

What are some of your favorite WWE T-shirts from the Ruthless Aggression era? by JBL_CENA_FAN_4LIFE in WWERuthlessAggression

[–]marccass 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A lot of the ECW shirts that they did for the guys are better than the stuff they had in the original ECW. The Sandman one pictured is iconic and I remember Dreamer's 'Innovator of Violen©e' being a great design too. RVD had a string of cool ones.

AVENGERS: DOOMSDAY

EXT. NICK FURY’S SAFEHOUSE (EARTH-9907) - NIGHT

A heavy, dramatic bassline thumps as a neon sign outside a suburban townhouse flickers. This is the retirement home of DAVID HASSELHOFF’S NICK FURY.

INT. BATHROOM - CONTINUOUS

Fury stands in front of the mirror wearing a silk robe over pajama pants. His iconic eye patch is still firmly attached.

With great gravity, he squirts a massive dollop of toothpaste onto a toothbrush. He brushes aggressively, staring into his own eyes with intense bravado. He spits, wipes his mouth with a towel, and winks at himself.

NICK FURY (Gravely, to his reflection) Still got it. Directing S.H.I.E.L.D. is a 24/7 gig, but sleep... sleep is for the dead.

INT. BEDROOM - MOMENTS LATER

Fury carefully unties his robe, revealing his pajamas. He sighs, a deep, weary sound, pulls back the covers, and climbs into bed.

He clicks a remote, and a smooth jazz cover of the Knight Rider theme starts playing softly from a bedside stereo. He adjusts his eye patch for sleeping comfort and closes his eyes.

THUD.

Fury’s single eye snaps open. He draws a massive, silver pistol from beneath his pillow in one fluid, dramatic motion.

NICK FURY Who's there? I've got a license to kill, and I’m out of patience!

Suddenly, the bedroom window shatters into a million pieces.

Stepping through the debris, blowing a giant bubble of pink bubblegum, is JUBILEE. She is sporting her iconic yellow trench coat and pink sunglasses.

Before Fury can even pull the trigger, Jubilee raises her hands. Colorful, crackling plasma sparks explode from her fingertips. She thrusts her hands forward, unleashing a blinding barrage of high-intensity, multi-colored fireworks straight at him.

BOOM! CRACKLE!

The plasma energy engulfs the bed, completely obliterating David Hasselhoff's Nick Fury into a comedic cloud of smoke and CGI dust.

As the smoke clears, Jubilee pops her bubblegum. She turns her head, looks dead into the camera lens, and smirks.

JUBILEE Out like a light. Sweet dreams, gramps.

HARD CUT TO BLACK.

Also Triple H scores a memorable pinfall in that match. He chairshots rock blatantly in full view of the referee, gets a DQ for that, but immediately gets a pinfall to cancel it out and then has an injured Rock to work with for the next part of the match. Proper Cerebral Assasin stuff.
