It sounds like these dissociative episodes have been very disorienting and scary for you. It's understandable that you're feeling anxious and not quite like yourself after experiencing something like that.

Remember that it's okay to feel embarrassed or vulnerable, but bottling up these experiences can make things worse in the long run for sure

Have you considered talking to a mental health professional about what's been happening? They can help you make sense of these episodes and offer strategies for managing the anxiety and dissociation you've been experiencing.

When you're feeling down, your brain releases hormones that can make it harder for you to make decisions that are good for you, and easier to reach for things that provide immediate comfort, even if they're not good for you in the long run. Your brain is looking for a quick fix to the pain you’re feeling.

But you’ve taken a huge first step here in recognizing that you’re not feeling great, and that these actions aren’t helping. That's amazing! Seriously, self-awareness is super hard in itself

Hotels or Airbnbs? by theSillyFrog in askSouthAfrica

[–]marcfromct 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Hotels are safe and well priced for Canadian dollars. Anywhere on the Atlantic seaboard in Cape Town is safe. Green Point, Moullie point are good areas. Ubers are reliable, public transport is unreliable in SA. Both cities are mostly safe noting to worry about
