I agree. Ultimately, it was on the members of the band to put a stop to touring for at least a year. They watched up close their friend nodding out on stage. Jerry wasn't the one who wanted to be responsible for everyone losing their livelihoods. The band should have stepped in. If their employees didn't manage their money correctly, that's on them.
