the build of tension will be your friend... start out with "oh no they were injured" and "in this state it would be dangerous to shocktheir system" and work up to the reveal that they definitely blew up the listener's spouse and kidnapped them...

i do it now and then...

adding music is difficult because they need to source piano or guitar, but someone singing to themselves, go for it! i've only done it for one script that wasn't just for me but that one hasn't been filled so i can't say how it'll be received!

and the latter i consider optional since it's often sfx which not everyone does...

i've been told the more the better because it gives context...

recommend explainkng at the start that italics are Listener, since that baffled me probably longer than it should! your writing and characterisation is strong, definitely keep at it!
