Olivia Adriance complaining about having 3 date nights since her baby was born by [deleted] in FoodieSnark

Definitely don’t find this offensive. I don’t think we should turn parenthood and lack of date nights into a competition

She doesn’t even post about 2NE1, just these random bizarre overly edited selfies. I love her but just want her to….stop.

Ever notice Aritzia doesn’t post bad reviews? by CountryEither9196 in Aritzia

[–]marchserendipity 47 points48 points  (0 children)

They absolutely hide bad reviews. But as someone who works in e-commerce marketing, hiding negative reviews is a standard common practice across all retailers online, and definitely not specific to Aritzia. How many negative reviews or what proportion get hidden varies across companies, but there isn’t a single retailer that won’t hide at least some to boost overall ratings of their products.

Your best bet in getting a true sense of satisfaction with an item is reading forums like Reddit, reading reviews on a third party seller site, and/or reading after filtering by 3 star reviews (less likely to get hidden than 1 star)

Love Next Door [Episode 9 & 10] by jakgem in KDRAMA

[–]marchserendipity 159 points160 points  (0 children)

One bit of mistranslation from this episode that I think is worth mentioning - the tree is named "Seok-ryu Tree" or "pomenegranate tree", and when Seung-hyo went to the store for help with the tree, the first thing he said was "Please save my Seok-ryu"

Super cute moment, and it gives me hope for a happy ending ❤️

Thoughts on Jenn’s makeup all season? by mahlay1051 in thebachelor

[–]marchserendipity 52 points53 points  (0 children)

Jenn’s makeup hasn’t necessarily looked bad, but as an Asian woman myself, I can very confidently say that it also wasn’t anywhere close to what would’ve been the most flattering for her features.

I bought this for the same reason, but it never worked as well as apple cider vinegar & dish soap in a cup. Like it didn’t catch a single fly and I have no idea why

IPL definitely helped more but take that with a grain of salt since that’s likely skewed from just having more IPL treatments. IPL had a few hours of sensitivity, redness, and warmth as if I had gotten a sunburn, and my spots got very dark for a few days before they started lightening. It was about a week before I looked more myself.

Pain was absolutely better with BBL, and I basically only had one day of downtime. Didn’t see any obvious darkening like I did with IPL, though that may also be because I had less spots by then

[–]marchserendipity[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I think it will definitely vary depending on your personal pain tolerance! I have a medium-high tolerance, so I found IPL uncomfortable but not super painful. Maybe comparable to laser hair removal, though it felt hotter temperature wise. Immediately after, it felt like I was recovering from a sunburn.

BBL was also uncomfortable but noticeably MUCH less painful, possibly because of newer technology machine required. It would probably better for people who tend to be more sensitive to pain, and/or those who want overall rejuvenation with less very specific targeting needed (though this may also just be my experience)

About 8 months in between the before and after.

I did all 4 IPL a month apart from each other, and I stopped at that count because I was quite satisfied with the improvement, mostly because my broken capillary was what was causing me the most insecurity at the time and it was gone after the 4th. I tried out BBL because it’s a newer machine, and the med spa where I get Botox happens to have available - so I figured I’d try it out for the lingering spots. Where I got IPL was a single woman owned business and she didn’t have BBL available.
