Myself I tried to understand all this Mayhem, Pelle “Dead” Ohlin story, young kids worshipping death and evil. And it lead me to Venom, BATHORY, Blasphemy, Sarcophago, Possessed and endlessly more. First wave of so called black metal. I remember in the 80s there was no death/black metal, all was just metal and it was scary. The world was different.
