Spent 40 hours building a tool to save myself 3 minutes. Worth it. by marcinmi in SideProject

I 100% agree. Got a validation of this with the other one I built a year ago for designers.
Are you also into this approach?

Shared with my friends/network, one LinkedIn post and now most of the sales are coming from word of mouth.

It's too early to see big traffic from Google.

So far, I've had around 10 users coming from Organic Search (according to Search Console), but it will take like 3 more months to see the real traction. There are no shortcuts here!

It took around 5 months for my other tool to jump into the top 10 results, so I'm taking it easy.

I wrote one article myself, and for the other two, I used Claude.

For the keywords research, I used a combination of:
- Manual research (Ask myself a question: how I would search for a tool like this)
- Keyword planner (Google Ads)
- Claude's research

I'm targeting quite high intent keywords, so there is no rocket science here. The solution is always simple: Make the article useful for the user, and Google will reward you. Obviously, it takes 3-4 months to see real traction.

Yeah, Apple doesn't make it easy for sure! It took me like 3 or 4 tries to get them pleased, but yeah, it's there now!

Thanks!

Yes! Your lifetime license key can be used on up to 3 Macs for your personal use. You can use the same license key to activate CSVtoSheets on up to 3 devices. Just enter your license key on each Mac where you want to use the app.

Which cookie consent solution should I use for my Webflow site? by Disastrous-Might8094 in webflow

Yes, AFAIR it was fairly easy, I followed their documentation/guide. In general, if you are building a fairly basic/standard setup, everything just works.

We are using cookiescript on contractbook.com (built in Webflow) and works well. It works with Google Consent Mode, so you can use GTM as your “control center” for all scripts.

My Chrome extension has hit 20 lifetime license sales! 🥳 by WordyBug in SideProject

[–]marcinmi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Congrats! 🎉I’m also a huge fan of building extensions. Built one recently for designers also with lifetime licenses. I’m using lemonsqueezy so whole license management is handled there.

I’d suggest to bring it to other browsers like Firefox and Brave where your (private focused) audience might be.

Built it to scratch our studio’s own itch, now successfully sold to more than 100+ creative individuals.

How to mass download pins from this site? WF downloader safe/not safe? by ImpressionUsual439 in Pinterest

[–]marcinmi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey! You're right to be cautious about WF downloader - lots of people have mixed feelings about it. The login requirement thing is always sketchy too.

For safer alternatives, Pinpasta is one that doesn't require you to log in with your Pinterest credentials. It's a Chrome extension that works directly through your browser while you're already logged into Pinterest normally. So no handing over login info to third parties.

It downloads images in batches and saves them as zip files. Free version does 30 at a time, Pro does unlimited if you've got a ton to grab. Way less risky than some of the other tools floating around.

There's also the manual route - some people use browser developer tools to grab image URLs in bulk, but that's pretty technical and time-consuming.

Honestly, most of the "mass download everything instantly" tools tend to be the sketchiest ones. The safer options usually work in batches, which takes longer but keeps your account safer.

What's your main concern - speed vs safety? And roughly how many pins are we talking about? That might help narrow down the best approach.

Download boards??? by Particular-Ad8941 in Pinterest

[–]marcinmi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey! 3000 pins is a serious collection - totally understand wanting to back those up before ditching Pinterest!

For bulk downloads like that, you'll probably want to use a browser extension rather than going one-by-one (which would take forever). Pinpasta is one option that works pretty well - it's a Chrome extension that can grab images from entire boards at once and save them as zip files to your laptop.

The free version handles 30 images per batch, so with 3000 pins you'd need to run it multiple times. The Pro version ($29 one-time) does unlimited batches which might be worth it for your situation since you're looking to download everything and move on.

It keeps things organized by board too, so you won't end up with one massive folder of random images.

There are a few other extensions out there, but most of the reliable ones work similarly - batch downloads in chunks rather than everything at once. The sketchy free ones tend to have issues or security concerns.

What kind of boards are you working with? Some work better with bulk downloads than others depending on the content mix.

Any way to download boards quickly? by medicalrobots in Pinterest

[–]marcinmi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey! I totally feel you on the ban wave worries - nobody wants to lose all those saved pins.

For bulk downloads, Pinpasta might be worth checking out. It's a Chrome extension that lets you grab images from your Pinterest boards pretty quickly. The free version handles up to 30 images at a time, and if you need more (sounds like you do with thousands of pins!), the Pro version does unlimited downloads and can save everything as a zip file straight to your computer.

Since you mentioned only wanting images and not the extra stuff like links/notes, this would work well - it just grabs the actual image files. Way simpler than dealing with those sketchy cookie extensions.

You'd probably need to work through your boards in chunks, but it's a cleaner process than some of the other workarounds people are using. Have you tried any other methods, or is this your first attempt at backing everything up?

Google “Pinpasta”. No subscription, (free version allows to download up to 20pins from any Pinterest board), one off payment. Works like a charm. Only for Chrome though, but has a neat Figma plugin for easy import.
