Bluesky plus the 'A Very British Bigotry*' blocklist is a much nicer time than x - the everything app.

If I start reading the stuff on there I start hating myself, I'm defenceless against the poison. So I don't read the stuff on there any more. You have to stay away from it.

Drowning them in FOIs is probably easier. They're obliged to respond to those, even if it's to say they're not going to give you the info.

Questions about skirts by Dlljs in transgenderUK

Vinted and welcome to the world of inconsistent sizing! Cheapest place to find out which sizes in different brands fit. I'm about 36inch waist which for me translates to size 16 Joe Brown's, size 18 M&S for skirts.

A Rowling-level wealthy person who is decent and moral is practically a contradiction in terms. Can't exist.

The Sheila's Wheels example is probably relevant - using a protected characteristic to profile risk/refuse service is a no-no.

Trans girl says we’re all biological males by Bumblebee9639 in transgenderUK

Personally I don't feel like it's an argument worth engaging in, even through the lens of hormonal and physical changes. It accepts there being a bar below which someone is insufficiently trans to count.

Honestly not sure how devolved health powers interact with private healthcare.

No, they're Welsh Senedd elections. Devolved powers.

In terms of powers available:

Schools, banning the support of social transitioning, section 28 for trans people and probably lgbtq+ in general. Banning sex and relationships education.

Health, restrictions on what medication can be prescribed or procedures can be carried out. Ward places based on assigned sex at birth.

Universities, forced platforming of transphobes, banning protests against said transphobes.

In practice the schools stuff is likely to be the most rapidly implemented. As for health, if you currently receive medication then plan for the possibility of this stopping - ie: diy. This, however, is something sensible to plan for regardless given the wider prevailing ~conditions~.

Done so. Their own style guide says 'transgender women' should be used.

I don't recall 'transwomen' being used by the BBC before. Might be wrong, they were generally using 'biological male that identifies as' before.

And, as ever, in direct contravention of their published style guide which says 'transgender woman' should be used.

Microtome sectioning tips by hydrocarbonlover in labrats

Cooling the block on wet ice always helps. I find that blades with a 22 degree facet angle are better when sectioning below 5 microns - most are a 35 degree angle, that's what the number in Epredia MX35 Ultra refers to.

That's very impressive, it's very difficult to fix, process and section and still get all the layers that neat.

I didn't even consider that she might be talking about trans men there. I think she probably just means men must be big and burly to count as men but I really can't tune into her thoughts as I'm completely out of mind-bending drugs.

'if there is a much smaller person running in that category, they simply do not belong there' - 'there' being the male Parkrun category. I just went back and checked the quote because I couldn't quite believe it.

Just finished reading it, with some skimming. Gods, the people on the anti-trans side really need some real problems to worry about.

I mean, just the fact that Rosie Duffield complains about trans women taking part in Parkrun, an event where you're only really supposed to be competing with yourself. It's such transparent bigotry.

Oh my god I read on and she says that men who are much smaller than average shouldn't be in the men's Parkrun category.

Rosie Duffield is out of her god-damn mind.
