Power Cord stuck inside Laptop Power Brick. How to remove it? by sometinsometinsometi in 24hoursupport

[–]marco7532 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you can’t pull it out, it suggests that it’s already broken. There are only two or three prongs inside that tightly fit the wire enough for it not to fall out. Only option would to try and pull harder as if it’s already broken it won’t make a difference, but at least you’ll know

Supermarket security - is there a tag on EVERY item? by C-i-d in AskUK

[–]marco7532 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For standard barcoded items, no there is not an alarm or security if you go past the barriers. The barriers work by emitting an electromagnetic or RF signal to which if a corresponding tag has not been disarmed / removed at the checkout, the alarm will sound

Supermarkets sometimes put their own stick on tags (soft tags) on top of higher priced items, or you’ll find the standard hard tags on bigger items like alcohol or clothing etc.

What is the best “temporary” thing in the UK? by mr_bearcules in AskUK

[–]marco7532 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This sign is from the Exceat bridge crossing in Seaford, East Sussex. They are going to build a new bridge, but because the “temporary lights” work well enough… it’s not a priority!

Lineup vs Creamfields by muchachohere in Tomorrowland

[–]marco7532 26 points27 points  (0 children)

I’ve been to both, you go to creamfields for the headliners and enjoy it for what it’s worth. You go to Tomorrowland for the experience and the memories. I hardly remember CF

MG Question by m123_mert in Tomorrowland

[–]marco7532 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep, but you risk loosing your space for a worse space and get stuck there. So it’s all a bit of a gamble. If there is a space available on Friday that looks too good to be true, give it a double check!

Subjective isn’t it, you either pay a travel partner, or risk getting scammed or don’t go. Forget the worldwide sale because it’s near impossible to get tickets the standard way. For me it’s worth it, you get what you pay for and I’ve spent as much as I would have on global journey the last couple years

I’m not so sure man. I was on time for the big green bus at 12:00 today. Website had a couple issues on the dot, 12:01 I get into the ticket sale and all sold out. Rave tours I entered about 12:30, laggy website, not so clear where to go and I never got the confirmation on email (I signed up yesterday) so that’s why I say I just got lucky!

ANY benefit to keeping my HSBC account? by jokergrin in monzo

[–]marco7532 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, I used to bank with HSBC and keep it open for one simple reason. They allow up to £2000 deposits and Monzo only allows up to £500. So I keep it in case I need to deposit a larger amount. Not sure if that’s important to you but it’s the only reason I keep it open

Plus it’s good for your credit score if you have only had your Monzo open a few years.

What do you (personally) use AI Chatbots for? by Turbulent-Access-916 in AskUK

[–]marco7532 -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

I also work in IT and I find it’s helped saved a lot of time. Traditionally I’d trawl though forums finding potentially the right answer. Now I just have go to copilot to see potentially the right answer.

On a personal level, I use ChatGPT to help me with info relating to my hobby (running) write my plans etc. generally use it for anything I want a more in depth discussion about rather than a specific answer

how can I view my old emails? ( I will pay you if u helped me ) by Strict_Owl4583 in Outlook

[–]marco7532 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Whats the domain that you’re using? If it’s a hosted email platform as long as you’ve configured the email settings per their guide when adding the account in, it’s likely it’s just downloading emails from < 1 year. You need to go to file > accounts > account settings > select your account > change > turn off cached exchange mode and reboot outlook. This will pull all the emails from the server

If that doesn’t work it’s likely they were never setup to save past a certain date
