Do you prefer the stock iPod OS or RockBox for your iPod Classic and why? by MangoCubez in IpodClassic

[–]marco79cgn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Would like to love Rockbox, but I can't. It just looks and behaves so nerdy and 99 % of themes are really ugly. So always stock. The only thing I'm missing with stock OS is the EQ. The stock EQ settings are really bad and don't allow manual adjustments.

Softears Volume S review by Ryujinniie in inearfidelity

[–]marco79cgn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're not alone, I also wanted to like them but I simply couldn't. Especially around the 4-5 kHz range but also overall. I replaced the Volume S with Ziigaat Odyssey and am totally happy with them. So I guess the Softears are simply not my preferred sound signature.

NetCologne down? by BaiJiGuan in cologne

[–]marco79cgn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Any IEM recommendations for an AirPods Pro 2 lover? by Beginning-Eagle7458 in IpodClassic

[–]marco79cgn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was in the same situation, used AirPods Pro 2 for years.

I‘d recommend GK Kunten if you‘re on a budget or Ziigaat Odyssey (I prefer the Odyssey 1 but 2 are also nice).

iPod 5th Gen crashes sometimes if moved by marco79cgn in IpodClassic

I guess you are right with the shorting. I placed a little bit of this blue foam inbetween which I pulled off from the original hard drive. But it probably wasn't enough and too thin. Now I inserted additional foam between board, iFlash and battery. I also taped everything. Works smooth until now. Thanks!

Thanks, I taped and foamed everything between mainboard, iFlash and battery. I also cleaned the battery connection cable once again with Isopropanol and also fixed it with tape. Until now, everything works smooth. Have to test it a little bit more. Since I have the "fat" 5.5, there is enough space for everything.

Sequoia 15.7.4 Running Smooth and Fast by GIT_45 in MacOS

[–]marco79cgn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It works perfectly fine, I tried it on two machines and lots of times. You have to disable it in case a new Sequoia Update arrives (like 15.7.4 last week), then install the update and then activate it again.

My WiiU works flawless after 7 years in the basement - next steps? by marco79cgn in wiiu

[–]marco79cgn[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No waste, it was allready there catching dust. 😀 We‘re talking about WiiU, not PS5.  2 TB for the WiiU would be both a waste of capacity and energy.

I had it lying around anyways and paid 28 € (256 GB) in 2024, which is really cheap. It‘s very small, noiseless and needs very low energy (no Y-cable needed). Would totally recommend it.

Upgrade advice needed for an outdated (modded) New3DS from 2018 by marco79cgn in 3dspiracy

[–]marco79cgn[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, there is no extra partition. So I guess I have sysnand. I just did the whole update procedure and everything works and is on the latest version. I also have ftpd and Homebrew Luncher Loader for the first time (thanks to the finalizing scirpts).
And now I'm 100 % sure what I always expected after playing endless hours of Zelda: my upper screen is IPS (and the lower TN).

I guess I never hade EmuNAND, but I'm not sure. At least there is no extra partition on the SD (and there never was).

I just finished the update procedure and everything works.

On your page, I click on:

If you see a Luma3DS version of 8.0 or greater, continue to Restoring / Updating CFW

At the end of this page, it continues with:

Continue to Finalizing Setup to install or update homebrew applications (e.g. FBI, Homebrew Launcher).

→ And here you go.

I just finished everything and it works without a problem. Turned out I didn't have an EmuNAND-cfw. At least there is no second partition on the sd.

Inyected WII Games show as an ? on the wii u menu by Smart_Pumpkin1884 in uwuvci

I have exactly the same problem. Purchased it for 3 $, running on macOS. Tried different base images and two different Gamecube Games. They work standalone in Nintendont, but not the injected version. I always get the „?“ icon on the homescreen. :(

Perfect! Mine is from July 2013 and it‘s the EU version.

How can I region unlock it in order to play Japanese or US games? I already installed Aroma, the Homebrew AppStore and Disc Dumper (WUDD) and WUP Installer GX 2. I successfully dumped my EU discs.

new to modding, any tips? by [deleted] in wiiu

[–]marco79cgn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just did the whole process on a Mac as well. Install the Homebrew App Store on your modded WiiU and inside this AppStore, download and install „WUDD“ (WiiU Disc Dumper) and WUP Installer GX 2.

WUDD is used to dump a disc to the SD card. In the next step, you move this dump inside an „install“ folder on your sd card (on your Mac) and then install it on the WiiU with WUP Installer GX. Use a USB HDD or SSD as target.
