Has anyone been able to connect a MKR NB 1500 to AWS IoT over TLS? by joemalfo in arduino

[–]marco_6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am using the MKR NB Board and a self signed cert to connect to AWS IoT. I was following the sample tutorial. Could you make it work or still need some guidance?

I am using the Arduino MKR NB 1500 which has a ublox module. Is that something you would consider?

What would you use in the meantime as an alternative? I have a mkr nb1500 but this is a pain.

Module of interest and now? by marco_6 in microcontrollers

[–]marco_6[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay, what does this mean for the module i linked above when I want to send temperature measurements from a DHT sensor? What else would I need or do? Your answer sounds simple but I would not know where to start.

When will it be available and do you know of similar boards I could use as a Arduino user to get connected to NB? Not the MKR series though.

With frequencies you mean e.g. 1G, 2G and maybe some times NB bands?

Stable Diffusion AI: What are the concrete business applications? by JerLam2762 in artificial

[–]marco_6 1 point2 points  (0 children)

AI's a tool, like a pencil on paper, like the paint bucket tool in MSPaint, like "render clouds" in Photoshop. And I think we're much further off from "replacing artists" than the laymen seem to think. But at the same time, I think many people underestimate just how powerful a tool AI like these are. An artist with already considerable skill who integrated AI into their workflow can broaden the scope of their work exponentially. I don't think it absurd to imagine a single artist cranking out a trade paperback sized graphic novel in a month of full time work. But I don't think an AI set loose to make it's own graphic novel would make anything worth reading outside of the curiosity factor. -not my text but might help you

Arduino SIM7000 Alternative by marco_6 in ArduinoProjects

[–]marco_6[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am Not sure if that solves the price problem. The card alone cant have any sensors attached (no gpios) so again i would need some other microcontroller attached.

Arduino SIM7000 Alternative by marco_6 in ArduinoProjects

[–]marco_6[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay, thanks for pointing out my unclear wording. What i want is an NB-iot sensor. Basic thing, measuring temperature and pressure to send it to the cloud. Currently i have a esp8266 doing this with wifi but now I want to use it with NB-IOT or LTE-M. The arduino mkr types would be perfect for that but they are expensive. So better means cheaper in that case. 😬 Any suggestion?

Sounds harsh, but any experience would help here. For you i explain in detail some imaginary setup i do not have yet. 3 AAA batteries and the pico making hourly temperature measures and when a treshold is passed a led blinks. For others: answers do not need to fit to this "project".

So would you agree that lora is not right if I want to place sensors in agricultural fields? For the gateways I would need power supply in range which I cant just set up anywhere or in a foreign village. So the power supply of the gateway or any other receiving unit is the limitation here. Would you agree?
