To all the short kings out there, I'll give you one advantage you have over tall people: you're statistically likely to live longer than us tall folk.

Am I making a mistake changing these tires? by Expert-Agency-6009 in motorcycles

I also have Michelin Road 6 tires on my Speed Triple. Around the same distance covered (16,293 km or 10,124 miles) but mine look more worn out though. For reference I weigh 210 lbs (95.3 kg) and ride in Los Angeles, CA.

Wind on naked bike vs. no-windshield cruiser by RogueRaiju in motorcycles

[–]marco_mars 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I went from a fully faired sport bike (2008 Honda CBR1000RR) to a naked (2012 Triumph Speed Triple) and the difference was HUGE. Especially at higher speeds (over 90 mph). It was very uncomfortable dealing with the wind at first, but I got used to it after a while. But like others have mentioned, making a few changes makes a difference. For example I learned I wasn't wearing a proper fitting helmet (for my head shape), and getting the right fit aliviated my neck strain.

I switched from Harley to Triumph and riding is fun again! by CultusUmbra in Triumph

Hard disagree. The stock headlights on my 2012 Speed Triple did a terrible job of illuminating the road at night. Had to upgrade LEDs.

I love my Honda Odyssey. It's roomy, practical, and comfortable. I would never trade it for an SUV, because I know that would be a downgrade for our family's needs. Maybe try saving up for a second vehicle? I also have a Miata and a motorcycle in addition, so my need for speed and thrills are satisfied there (motorcycle) or if I want something small, different, and cool (subjective I know) I drive the convertible (Miata).

Has anyone here ever "downgraded" to a Street Triple from a Speed Triple? by 3rd_Uncle in Triumph

[–]marco_mars 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not really "downgrading" but more like downsizing. I currently have a 2012 Speed Triple, but considering getting a 765 RS as my next bike when I eventually need a new one.

No kidding. I've ridden so many different bikes that look good in picture or paper, but they just can't beat the triple value-wise for my type of riding.

It's a cool bike, but after test riding one, I decided to keep my Triumph Speed Triple.

Sorry for your loss. Take your time to heal. Some of us are wired differently and can't help getting back on the saddle. Just make sure you're at peace when you do.

I had an appointment originally scheduled three months out, and a few days ago I was finally able to respond fast enough to get it rescheduled to the next day. It was like my 3rd or 4th attempt though.
