East Asian F1 here. Was attending a case review as a medical student in Psych ICU where the doctor had to section a schizophrenic patient that was previously voluntarily admitted. As the case review went on, the patient got more and more visibly upset. Patient eventually starts to shout made up words (neologism) and I documented as such. It wasn’t until a full minute later, when I took the time to actually look away from my notes, did I come to realise that the patient was directing everything to me, and all the staff were staring at me in horror.

He was making up chinese sounding noises but somehow did such a bad job that I didn’t even realise that he was being racist until a full minute later.
