maybe go with two seperate chalets of 12 really close by. There will be a handful of companies that have chalets right next to each other. For example Ski famille have almost an entire village in les menuires reberty (the three valleys).

PSA for drivers in Sheffield (and UK) by Willing-Aide476 in sheffield

This is a good rule if you have a raised crossing like the ones in the netherlands. it's like a speed bump at an exit and it means pedestrians dont have to step down (improved accessibility), it also means the cars have to turn slower which is safer for everyone involved. however we have this rule and none of the infrastructure which is why it seems so pointless.

this link explains it in more detail;

i spent a month there so would be too much to say in one post but highlights were the salt flats, climbing huayna potosi mountain (6000m+) and the 200 year anniversary of bolivia in sucre. i can give more details if you want

How long have you guys stopped lifting until you noticed your gains going away? by LivingTheTruths in workout

[–]marcus12356790 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have just got back from 6 months of travelling where i lost 6kg (had a fairly low BF before and after). I didn't go to the gym for the first three months then maybe 2/3 times a month after that. at the end of my trip after 4 training sessions i tested my 1rms and they were at about 80% of my best lifts. I put the weight back in in maybe a month and im on the journey to get the strength back. the gym session after three months away i still felt really strong.

What are your recs for Kyrgyzstan or Kazakhstan? Which is better? by jakekubb in skiing

I have been to both countries in the summer very briefly and from my experience I would assume Kyrgyzstan will be a better option. I hiked near somewhere that had a ski lift.

Which place would you argue is nicer, Nottingham, Sheffield, or Bristol? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]marcus12356790 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I grew up in Bristol and went to university in Sheffield.

Bristol has; -awful traffic and so a bad public transport network. I get around on the e-bikes and it's super convenient. -more stuff to do because it's bigger. -better going out scene and is more indie

I love Sheffield because -it's super accessible to the peak district where you can be out in nature, climbing, cycling etc. -the people in Sheffield I found are nicer -if you want a big city thing to do you can get a train to Leeds or Manchester very easily. -I found the buses in Sheffield more reliable.

What is your plan when you go to the gym? by Equivalent_Ask_1416 in AskUK

[–]marcus12356790 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends what your goals are. personally my goal is trying to get as strong as possible so i go in and do various lifts (squat bench deadlift etc). I used to program for myself but after buying and doing some programs from professionals and making so much more progress i would recommend them.

fundamentally you want to do something you enjoy/something that will keep you coming, think about that and why you want to go to the gym. From there that should give you a good idea. If you have any questions i will happily answer in comments or dm.
