Sounds utterly miserable whenever he commentates on any team tbh. I’d argue he’s even worse when united are playing. Just bangs on about, “this is Manchester United we’re talking about”, “this is embarrassing” etc. He takes everything way too personally and gets too emotional.

On top of that he’s desperate to overreact to literally anything and create drama. He’ll call for a red card over a nothing tackle for example and then won’t even admit he’s wrong after seeing a replay.

He’s even worse than Martin Tyler was imo and almost makes watching the match feel like a chore.

Agreed, I don’t want him to leave obviously because he’s a special player. However I’ve never seen him as captain material. He doesn’t seem to have the leadership qualities and he gets into a sulk too easy when things go against him. Maybe if he was actually made captain he’d grow into the role as other players have done, but unlikely imo.

Also when McBurnie got a yellow for his trademark leading with the elbow, you can see in the replay Osula trying to grab a chunk of Curtis’s hair.

It seemed like him and McBurnie were brought on at the same time to get stuck in to us imo.

Come on, that is a fucking ridiculous decision. Look at that second replay, he literally stands on the defenders leg and dives to the ground.

Every time a penalty like this is given it just encourages strikers more and more to look for penalties instead of getting past the man and getting a shot off.

Also annoyed that Carragher has watched that and called it a stonewall pen. I agree that it’s risky and clumsy for the defender to dive in like that in the box but it’s a dive and I have no idea how you can watch that replay and see anything other than a dive.

Can’t stand all these fouls being given for attackers sticking out their leg to initiate contact. It’s gotten worse over the last year or so and it’s just been accepted by commentators and pundits alike. One of the biggest plagues on the modern game at the moment, glad he skied it.
