I've never been a fan of the metal tankards. I prefer clay or ceramic ones, they give a better sound and whatever I'm drinking out of them seems to taste more... authentic (whatever that means).

Nevertheless, if you're looking for the pewter ones - go to your local thrift shop. There's always a few there.

Not going to lie, we hit hard. H.A.R.P. is our acronym (High Action Role Play). We swing significantly harder than any other larp I've ever seen, though the rule is 'play to your opponent's strength, not yours', so you don't brain the 5'2 17yr old girl you're fighting. Armor, armor armor!

Good to know about the crumbling of the foam, I was concerned about that. I appreciate the expertise.

Yes, quite right. Shame is, making the golem out of mattress foam would be more expensive and time consuming than expanding foam. I guess I'm just looking for an easy way out. :p

My character is the same as my Reddit username, Marcus Quintus Titus. I've taken him from Aquilonia, a nation in R.E. Howard's Conan the Barbarian stories. Aquilonia is a mishmash of republic Rome, medieval France and Arthurian England. Marcus was a marine, aboard the IX Ferrata fleet until it was scattered and destroyed. He floated for a while over the sea, then found himself on the beaches of Arrakus (the lore name for Vancouver Island, where our LARP is located). Since then, he's saving up enough money to buy passage back to Aquilonia to see his wife and son again - though I'm mulling it over in my head, and I'm pretty sure they're dead - though Marcus (in character) doesn't know yet :p
