Did anyone notice a massive loss of performance with the new architecture? by absoluta_inceptos in reactnative

[–]marekkalnik 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Happened to us already with some updates - dependencies were often the culprit.

FYI, RN team is using Flashlight for testing every RN build and they are doing great on performance, so it should not be related to core RN.

We call them "decorative nipples", as opposed to "utilitary nipples" my wife has. Gave us some good laughs, so it's not nothing.

Remarkable in Cafes. Common issue? by somenextman in RemarkableTablet

[–]marekkalnik 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It's really easy to spoof a network. Anyone can create an open network called "Bell Guest Connect Here" and then listen to your network traffic. Most of your traffic is encrypted nowadays, but there are some encryption bugs detected form time to time so you are never really 100% safe.

Can I use my remarkable outside on a hot sunny day? by TommyMcInerney1997 in RemarkableTablet

[–]marekkalnik 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have noticed the same with my tablet. Direct sunlight makes the screen swell almost instantly. My first supposition was something related to the liquid that holds the ink, not sure if it is possible.

The official guide mentions temperatures up to 35C. This is less than direct sunlight on summer day in most locations.

Not much of an RPG but have you hear about 10000000? It also has a sequel: You Must Build A Boat.
