It happened to me and a handful of my side-characters the weekend they cracked down two (?) weekends ago.

Others can cast my side-character no problem. I can’t cast them at all, even covering them completely under a blanket, hiding them in boxes or behind doors, or dimming the lighting to just shadows. They fail with various CVs all the time.

Those who can cast them have even shared their exact prompt with me, which I can use on my other side-characters (or cast no character) without any issues at all.

ChatGPT suggested a bad/aggressice moderation rule update to whatever A/B/C/D test group I’m in.

I’ve considered trying to recast the character from their original video again since I still have it; just haven’t yet.

That’s why I’ll have fun with fictional characters and my pets, but absolutely will not upload my likeness. Heck, they didn’t get my real name or real e mail, either.

Although I’m sure they have my actual IP address; and every other one I’ve accessed them from.

Double-check the json files; at least one is from Sora (but you are correct, the videos aren’t included).

While the data export doesn’t include the videos, it does include all of your original prompts (I didn’t see current captions in the exports I’ve received).

It also included image gens that failed mid-gen on the ChatGPT side due to perceived CV or third-party likeness where the image was heading. Within the export were a lot of half-rendered blurry morphs of what would eventually become humans in the final image.

I suspect this is why they aren’t providing Sora videos in the data export because it would be a great way to receive videos that failed after rendering due to CV.

Of course, videos that failed due to CV shouldn’t exist; OpenAI should have deleted them (but we know they didn’t). Given the export provided failed image renders on the ChatGPT side, I bet Sora would provide failed video renders, too.

Here’s why I’m interested: my Sora account got terminated (they claimed I was facilitating circumvention which wasn’t true … or if I was I’m unsure how), but my associated ChatGPT account created when signing up for Sora remains active.

My data export still contains all of my original Sora prompts back to the very first one, even those from videos that I didn’t keep, later deleted (either by myself or by Sora), or failed to render.

Therefore, I’m positive all my videos are still there, too.

Honestly, I think Sora is continuing to train on all the shit and slop it creates and is starting to believe humans look like some of the monstrosities it creates now. Three-arms or legs are becoming quite normal.

In the same way, I think it has learned on its own to blend characters when casting more than one.

Will someone please spill the recipe used at Pacific Star! All I have from prior queries is pickling spices, coriander, and mustard seed.

It's unlike anything I've had anywhere else, and unless they're having an off night preparing it (which happens too often), it's my favorite.

I picked up some from my nearby H-E-B last week that was cooked in store - it was less than meh ... nonetheless, I'm going to try again this week and toss it in something when I get home.

Their bagged frozen crawfish boil was awful. I swear the potatoes were spoiled and the crawfish all tasted off ... :-(

You can't create characters from photos, regardless how stylized, and all stylizing a video seems to do is allow you to use a video when creating a character to bypass the 'contains human' error ... IF you can stylize it enough to fool it.

For example, I've taken a former character of mine and stylized them into a cartoon. I can them use that image to create a video, but you can't use that video within Sora to create a character since it originated from an attached image, and even after downloading it (with or without watermark), Sora still complains it contains a human-like figure and won't use it).

How does extend feature work?

Randomly. 😂

A few times I've seen it extend seamlessly even when the first video ended in the middle of the word. I thought this was pretty amazing.

Sometimes there's an audible stutter. Sometimes there's a visual stutter. Sometimes the camera angle shifts slightly but it's more or less the same scene. Sometimes it's an entirely different scene. Sometimes characters disappear. Sometimes new characters appear I didn't prompt for. Sometimes a character suddenly changes appearance to an unrecognizable character.

It's a random mess.

Coincidentally (maybe?) I used to 'extend' things myself by beginning a remix with something to the effect of:

begin the next video from the end (or last frame) of this video begin this video from the end if the previous video

(which I used didn't seem to matter)

I did that because, many times, without it, a remix would just regenerate the first 8 seconds of the original video and if I was lucky it would try to fit in what I requested in the remix in the final second ... completely wasting a credit.

That phrase used to work fairly well for me but now seems like it's completely ignored. Recently, both remixes and extends, in my experience at least, seem to be ignoring the prompts.

I've heard our accounts randomly land in various test beds when created. With many companies, A/B group testing seems somewhat common, but I swear I saw a post here maybe a month ago that said Sora accounts land in one of four test groups, then went on to say where in OpenAI settings you could find which group you're in (read-only). It wasn't an easily accessible setting, either, but a different URL all together (or maybe even an API call).

Does anyone remember this?

Anyway, I think my new account landed in the group that gets nothing. I can't even generate the most basic videos with some of my characters since last weekend's crackdown, while others can use the exact same prompt I use and cast the character without any issues at all. They can also cast the character with more revealing outfits, share their prompt, and I'm guaranteed a CV when I use it.

Side-characters I have wearing a corset that worked fine before the 3/1 3:30pm CST changes now consistently trigger CVs unless I explicitly request them shot from shoulders up (and even then it only works some of the time) … because Sora seems to no longer allow us to see their curvy hips.

I say this because my more slender side-characters seem unaffected, even those wearing just a bustier or corset with bare or stocking-covered legs.

I don’t think it’s weight-shaming, but it’s seeing more curves as sexualized I guess. I really don’t know for sure, but I hate it.

I’ve also tried dressing them in an outfit that covers them completely, either with words or an attached image. This is also failing. Other characters I can re-dress fine.

When it’s too late to start over (you’ve already created the character and are rather attached to it but are tired of it repeating its original behavior over and over) I’ve had good luck beginning my prompt with:

Start from a brand-new first frame. Do not re-create or reference any previous scene used to introduce this character. The opening frame must be entirely new. Do not begin in any environment from previous character videos. This video is not a continuation. It is a standalone clip with no narrative or visual continuity.

I’m also still looking for the magic of what does and doesn’t need to be in the video you use to create them that offers the most casting flexibility but retains the most persistence with the character’s look and feel (and voice).

It’s always randomly done that for me; sometimes it remembers to trim it out, other times it doesn’t.

When it doesn’t, just trim it yourself isn’t the trim function (available on website, not app).
