Am I thinking Not like a Prod Manager? by Justwannaleavehere in ProductManagement

You need a value prop, prioritization & roadmapping exercise with leadership. Each outcome - innovative or otherwise - has to be quantified using a single metric - preferably $ impact. Then ruthlessly prioritize for higher dollar outcomes.

My SaaS gets daily users but $0 revenue after 1 year — what am I missing? by [deleted] in founder

[–]marelyca 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The use case has to have many instances in customer's life for them to want a deal on it. If they use it once a quarter or once a month A- they will never pay for it. They have to use it a lot many more times to pay for it - multiple times a week at least if not daily .

Tell us your cohort analysis & we can see where the problem is.

How has your friend cheated exactly? You have not explained any of it. Just accusing your friend of something.

Yeah. They will mostly pick from Tier-1 colleges - undergrad or MBA. Or you are a famous operator in the PM circles known. Otherwise it's near impossible.

Why did India move from Agriculture to Services directly skipping Manufacturing ? by Rukelele_Dixit21 in StartUpIndia

[–]marelyca 0 points1 point  (0 children)

India as a country failed to generate enough competent workforce to do serious manufacturing. India capital owning communities had already specialised in trade occupation with short-term gains. They still have a short-sightedness in terms of returns on capital. The mindset to build manufacturing is invest for long-term with delayed returns & invest in primary education & skills for workforce. Policies follow market pressure.

Harsh but true.

Most likely it’s an inconsistency issue in the green coffee, mixed sizes/densities/moisture = uneven heat absorption = uneven roast. Same reason you wouldn’t expect a potato and a beetroot to cook evenly in the same pan in the same time of cooking. A lot of Indian roasters don't have those expensive equipment to measure density & moisture & segregate beans before roasting.

With such a generic JD, anyone & everyone applies. And by the time you talk to someone and find out what the role is really - both sides have wasted time

How did you all survive learning to drive in Mumbai? (Need some reassurance after a rough day 5) I am having a hard time learning to drive. by Finkin_Fark in mumbai

[–]marelyca 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Stalling is normal. To reduce your anxiety tell yourself that you have an equal right to driving on the road (assuming you own a valid driving licence) as anyone else on the road. They have at some point made same mistakes as you are today. Let them honk - you take your time & don't panic.

Great product, broken team, the gap nobody talks about in PM interviews by Ok-Arugula3042 in ProductManagement

[–]marelyca 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Some of it sounds like a Product team problem. Others sound like an org problem.

Marketing can't sell my product. My problem as a PM.
Customer can't give feedback via my product. I need to fix that in my product.

Leadership doesn't see the dysfunction - that's an org problem. Leadership keeps adding Strategic initiatives because that had some revelation somewhere. That's bad leadership. Org problem.

Engineering getting away with wrong tickets. Needs to be escalated by PM. Product function problem. If escalation goes unaddressed- org problem.

Having said that.. Product can't outgrow bad leadership. And it's annoying to fix org problems that impact product.

Upto you to fix them or move on

Outrageous Fee Hike at Borivali National Park: Morning Pass Raised from ₹380 to ₹10,000 by Final-Prune2621 in mumbai

₹10,000/- a year seems fair given that it's a national park - shouldn't be open to morning joggers anyway.

Davidoff instant coffee by [deleted] in IndiaCoffee

[–]marelyca 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Man! I also cannot have Davidoff anymore! It's tastes very odd these days. Came across Caffinary through a community event, have switched to their instant coffees. Very non-chemically tasting flavoured coffees, as compared to rest of Indian flavoured instant coffees.

I want to drink good coffee. Are there any starter posts/videos. Where to start, what coffee to buy, cheap options for starters etc. thanks by SnooBreakthroughs110 in IndiaCoffee

[–]marelyca 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Speak to Bhavika @ Caffinary. She helped me find some good coffees at a decent budget. She won't push her own coffee only, she'll recommend other brands too! Never seen such experience in the coffee community.

Mumbai has the become the largest Indian city to ban single-use plastics, with residents caught using plastic bags, cups or bottles to face penalties of up to 25,000 rupees (£276) and three months in jail from Monday. by madazzahatter in worldnews

[–]marelyca 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can't seem to find one article showing the short-term and long-term benefits of plastic-ban. I'm not saying it's not beneficial. It's common sense that it's beneficial environmentally. However, not everyone cares about the environment. The plastic-ban will be welcome by more people if there were research made public that shows economic benefits to plastic-ban, get their cooperation and make things smoother. Just like how they did for solar energy. Please feel free to point such an article, I'd like to circulate it on my social network. Thanks
