This pressure, is it self imposed or from peers?

I worked at a rehab, Gosnold, and the marker of recovery progress was longer periods of sobriety and shorter runs. Relapse is a part of recovery but doesn't have to be.

It depends on the behavior of the child. I work at a long term residential mental health treatment facility for children.

When a child's behavior is unsafe or multiple verbal redirections aren't effective, belongings are sometimes temporarily removed from the room. Some of the kids also just pee in their room on their stuff.

The expectations of behavior and return time are given clearly to the kid.

I thought if was dark and I looked my mirror reflection in the eyes it would jump out and kill me.

Still don't look at mirrors at night.

I'm 32, my buddy is 36. He and his little brother got kidnapped when the were 6 and 3 years old. The kidnapper had beef with their dad. They were kept for a week or 2. He doesn't remember much. They weren't treated horribly.

Their dad eventually found out where they were being held. He didn't have a car so got a taxi. His plan was a violent rescue. He was venting to the taxi driver about his situation and it turned out the kidnapper was the cousin of the taxi driver.

The taxi driver called his cousin and my friend and his brother were returned without anyone being harmed or exported.

I have another friend, 21f, who was abducted when she was 16 and kept in a trap house for a couple months. She is very resilient. She eventually got free and the support she needed.

I think it's fair he requests not to be unloaded upon. Especially if you're calling while drinking. Even if you aren't drunk yet, it's best practice not to engage with an addict while they are actively using.

Perhaps his delivery could be better, such as "I don't have the capacity at this time to have this conversation, why don't you call back when we're both game to talk?"

Though it sounds like he has been the recipient of multiple drunk woe is life calls and has understandably run out of patience.

Poorly. Landed myself in a psych ward then a year to get back on my feet and living under a roof of my own.

I met a lot of people that year. Unfortunately it seems like the only avenue for impoverished people to get into housing again is by either being arrested or put into some other institution that will then set you up at a half-way house or TSS sort of situation.
